m105 gumming up

i know there has been threads on this before, but the search funstion is not liking my requests. i have never had a problem with 105 "gumming up" before today. i shook the bottle harder than a paint shaker at home depot, sprayed my pad, sprayed my panel, and it is still gumming up like crazy. any ideas? i think i remember someone saying to mix some optimum polish with it. i have 105, the next hardest stuff i have is old ssr 2.5, and power finish, and optimum polish II. none of those can do what 105 can, but the gumming up is preventing me from doing any quick work.

it could be sticky paint that you are working with or it could also be the humidity which contributes to it gumming up like that.

Lots of factors cause polishes to misbehave. Which version M105 are you using?

What's the ambient temp? What about panel temp?

Humidity?

Pad condition? Is it adequately primed?

Etc..etc.

I've had 105 about weld itself to a trunk deck I was polishing this winter via KBM. Once I got it off, I let the halos warm up the panel and didnt' happen again.

With a bit more info, somebody here will definitely lead you in the right direction.

the temp outside was about 55 today, humidity extremely low, and the panels were warmed up from the sun... should i not use 105 outside? it was just too nice in the northeast today to polish in the garage. the pad is a pfw pad, and the more i did, did not change the behavior of the 105. i ended up squirting the panels with quick detailer to get it wet, but once it was caked i still had to go back and elbow grease some spots

and one other note, none of the other products acted like that today... my last two steps before sealing and waxing were completely fine without trouble at all.
