I did up my car yesterday. It was detailed previously but the dealer did a number on it when it went in to get some warranty work done. Anyway I tried the M105/205 w/ the PC but then it didnt come out to my expectations. So I used the Dewalt. I used white pads. I then used wolfgang swirl remover with the PC to get rid of hologram from the 849. I followed it up with a gold pad and wolfgang sealant.

What can I use after the M205? My end result came out fantastic but I feel that I could have used something else better. Or I may have done something wrong. I have other pads I just felt it would work and it did.

I didnt use any glaze. Does the glaze hide stuff or will hit help a pad cut or jewel?

Also How in the hell do some of you guys polish out a car with a rotary and not get any haze? I barely gave it any gas and I still got slight holograming.

I dont mean to make this seem stupid but I aint thinking right been drinking and watchin some college football! :dance

I'm a beginner, so I have no advice for you. BUT, the car looks great and I noticed you have the same aftermarket springs that I have on my Tiburon.

Well the hologram free is all in the technique and pad choices. Make sure you're not using to much of an angle on the pad. Learn how to feather the wheel. 205 is a great product and really shouldn't need anything after it. However on really picky paint I do sometimes go over 205 with some Ultrafina SE. Glaze is mainly for a highly gloss look. It will fill in imperfections for the moment. Glaze has no durability so next rain or wash and it's basically all gone. Looks like you did a decent enough job in the pics. Just practice more and more and you'll develop a style you get used to.

ultrafina or menzerna FPII are really good choices!!!

By the way, i have an infiniti G35 in black next friday that will end up spending about 8 hours on to get as perfected as possible in that time frame! My plan is 105/white, 205/white, FPII/blue all on the PCXP

What speeds do you use on the PC when applying the 105 and 205? And would they be same speeds if using a orange LC pad? I'm rather new to the PC and I am looking for good technic.

Thanks

Use that 105 on orange and get a more level clear :doh

After M205 I use my LSP. :nixweiss Usually M16.

Edit: Keep in mind M205 can be a bit pad-dependant. It was designed to follow M105 generally using a 7" Meg's 2.0 finishing pad. I've never gotten any micro-marring/swirls/holograms after that.

I would hit some members up for different samples of finishing polishes. There are alot to choose from, i like ZPC or FP2.

Speed 6 for both. Learned that the hard way.....
