Orinda Auto Detail

Opti Coat Pro Certified
This was referral from a local detailer who is booked out a couple months. Thanks Johny! The car came to me in what I thought to be great condition and at first glance seemed like 1 step was in order to get it all dialed in before Opti Coat pro. Well looks can be deceiving. I ended up doing 3 steps on this car as the clear was very hard and it took some aggressive compounding to the defects out.

Process
Wash and decon using 2x2 method with citrus wash followed by Iron-X and 3m perfect it clay.
Taped using 3m tape
Compounding was done with FG400 LR21 with a 5in and 6in BP. Megs finishing MF disc.
Polished using BF SRC compound LR21 yellow rupes pad
Final polish using BF SRC finishing polish white rupes pad
Opti Coat pro used on paint and wheels, Opti Glass pro used on glass, Opti lens used on light covers, and Black WOW used on window trim.

All in almost 20 hours start to finish on this amazing car!

When it got here I was thinking great! An easy one after fighting few black Tesla Model S sticky soft paint in the prior days.

After wash an decon taping was essential as all the gloss black trim around the window needed polishing for swirls and rids.

between the lights if you look the is a bubble almost. This is the only one on the car I couldn't get out but they were every where and required sanding to fully remove.

Swirls not really this cars issue. But RIDS were everywhere

Between using a combo of Halogens and LED's I was having to hunt down the defects using different light spectrum's helped a ton! This went on till almost 6am then how for some much needed sleep. Next day lets see what what we got!

Can you elaborate?

Vehicles come in from other countries to ours on cargo ships.
BMW uses HMS Harms vessels I believe.

Sometimes the vehicles move around or get scratched before they get loaded or in the hold, or after they get unloaded.

The Factory has a group of people at the Port that get the vehicles out, and do some Prep work so they will run to get them loaded onto trucks.

Some of these people are there to fix damaged areas, and they are actually very, very, good at what they do.

A good Detailer with the right tools and/or experience will be able to catch some of these repairs..
