Lucas Liquid Polish Quick Detail

Finally, decided to post a very quick detail on my very well worn DD (160k mileage//SS paint//outside 24/7). After reading a post about Lucas Liquid Polish, I decided to use this product for a quick 1 step detail.

The car had a recent full Spring detail in March. I primarily use ONR and occasionally coin-ops for heavy soiling. As such, the car while in pretty good shape was starting to show minor spider-webbing and light oxidization.

Lucas Liquid Polish is a very good AIO polish/cleaner/sealant. However, it seems to get no advertising by Lucas. It is watery in consistency, has a very mild chemical smell (not overbearing), and easily buffs off to a nice shine. View attachment 14298

It hazes almost instantly,but is super easy to buff off. Lucas Liquid Polish is equivalent to Klasse AIO in essentially chemically cleaning the paint (rather that mechanically abrading the paint) and easily handled the minor spider-webbing and light oxidation on the horizontal surfaces.

Finally, the obligatory reflection shots.

The car had been clayed recently, so my process was ONR, dry, apply Lucas Liquid Polish via Cyclo with green light polishing pads.

Overall, I am pleasantly surprised by this as an AIO. It will not handle heavier scratches, but for light oxidation and minor scratches, it works well. This is a good choice for a daily driver like mine. Thank you for looking.

Just a little note. I usually use Klasse AIO as my go to on my DD with very good results (especially with durability). I am going to not add anything on top of this to test durability/beading/ etc for comparison.

An update:

The vehicle was still beading as of this past week. However,I did notice that some minor oxidation was present. I just prepped the vehicle for the winter. (PB's Black Hole followed by IW845). So, in my not scientific study,I achieved about 2.5 months of protection and counting.

@yakky:

I have used IW845 and PB's Black Hole in the past but never together. My reasoning was that this vehicle is a daily driver with SS paint. It was a fleet vehicle with 20K mileage ( and swirled beyond belief when I bought it due to automated washes) until I purchased it for my long work commute (at the time 67miles one way). I do a traditional full detail in the spring but wanted to try this combo to help preserve the paint (filling/hiding any blemishes as compared to abrading the SS paint like a traditional polish) Obviously, IW845 was used a winter wax (very durable in the past for me).

yeah, I love 845 and I have wanted to try black hole. Keep us posted on how long it lasts, hopefully it does not affect the durability of 845.

For winterizing I like fk1000p

Hmm, I just picked up some FK1000. I had nothing but good luck with 845 for a few years now, how would you compare the two?
