Looks like Adam`s has come a long way....?

Curious on Autopia`s opinion.

When i first got into this Adams was a good all in one place to go...but as i learned more i saw the rest of the world of products.

I`m hearing a lot of buzz about their new Ceramic Spray Coating and went back to their site and saw a lot of nice looking products.

Obviously i`m sure there are better products out there for the money...but i`m curious how many of you guys dabble in Adam`s products.

Thanks.

One of his videos about "How to Wash" put me off his stuff. Demonstrated, uhm...a mindset that I don`t relate to.

If there are better products for the same money I`d have to have some very compelling reasons to pass those up and spend the same for inferior goods. I even do business with [EDIT: let`s just say "companies with whom I have serious philosophical differences" ;) ] when the same $ won`t buy me (at least) equivalent stuff.

Well, don`t go by just what Yours Truly says ;)

Note that (well-respected) Autopians Sizzle Chest and Loach have had some very good opinions of some Adams products. There`s a recent thread about Adams Spray Coating that might be worth the dreaded SEARCH (might come up under just a simple click on "New Posts").

I joined their facebook group for ```` and giggles and it amazes me how their fan base operates. They "collect" this stuff like it`s gold or silver, then post pics of their collection and brag about it. Yeah guy, I think your cool cause you have 6 bottles of buttery wax, 4 brilliant glazes, 6 cans of paste wax and countless gallons of stuff you`ll never use...and they just keep buying more. I don`t not like their products, I have some that I use, but the fan boys are what get me.

Browse through the "Detailing 101 by Autogeek" on FB for some true lunacy.

Eventually you`ll run across a self-proclaimed expert who often posts a pic of his McKees 37 shrine. Literally looks like every product they offer stacked in a nice, neat pyramid with a banner in the background.

End of the day, everybody has their favorites, try a few things, find out what you enjoy...and use it in good health. And buy in the smallest bottle possible until you`re sure you like it.

Yeah I get it. I can see collecting a lot off different products from different manufacturers to do tests to see what you like better but don’t get stock piling vast quantities. I do like some of their polished and their DA’s do seem to be nice.....also resisting buying their spray coating....

I’m gonna say I kinda like some of his stuff

The heavy duty compound, will be trying again.
Works well so far, also the bottle is user friendly and color
coded to the pads. Which I would be interested in as well.

I have a good assortment of products from a bunch of different manufacturers, and there are some that I will repeatedly buy. I got 2 Adams mystery boxes a while back, and I like and use the car soap and interior detailer. Most of my supply is from poorboys, OPT, and meguiars. I feel it’s a disservice to limit yourself fully to one brand.

They have come a long way since they started. Very good products and excellent customer service. I use a few all the time. And yes, they have their followers/fans, but that great for them/him!

Love my sk mini as well, works awesome and if you get it on a sale it’s a screaming deal

I just don`t have the stomach to pay for all that branding and marketing on a consistent basis. I haven`t disliked the products I`ve tried though (soap, sealants, rinseless wash).

I put Adams and Chemical Guys in the same category.

Have you tried his stuff. What I have ordered has been great just spendy. Except for the snow foams haven’t really found anything that stands out from CG. I think Griots would be a fairer comparison. Seems like CG has 10 products for every category where Adam’s and griots seem to focus on one or two and do it well. Just a noobs point of view though.

It’s overpriced for what you get in my opinion. I haven’t used one Adams product that does anything better than what I was already using that’s also cheaper.

I`ve had good luck with most of thier products I`ve tried. It seems very "cultish" to me? Some products are a bit pricey, but I dont tbink I`ve had any problems with any products I`ve tried from them. So they seem good to go.

I`m surprised Adams Detail Spray hasn`t come up. It`s one of my all-time favorite QDs.
Buttery Wax is an amazing topper, as good a P21S, and lasts about as long (old-timers will get that). But really, if you apply Buttery Wax with a DA, black pad, on 2 or 3, take your time and "feed the paint" as we said in the 90`s, it`ll produce a show-winning finish.

I haven`t seen a reason to buy anything from Adam`s since they are way overpriced compared to just about everything else which I know work well.

BTW, who makes Adam`s stuff for Adam?
