Looking To Move From hand Applications to Machines...

Hello all,

I'm a long time viewer on here but I don't speak up much because... well.. I'm a noob.

I've been detailing my own and family's cars for about 10 years now as a budget amateur and I have come into some cash and it's time to upgrade. I need your input.

I need someone to help me assemble a beginner's, budget-friendly kit for machine polishing. I've looked around and I think I can do a complete system for about $500. I already have the basics: P21S shampoo, 303 protectant, poorboy's bug squash, and Mother's Showtime for an LSP.

Please help me: I am looking at the Meguiar's G110v2 polisher, but I am clueless when it comes to pads, polishes, etc, but I am confident I know what I'm doing for hand applications.

The family rides are a 2010 Honda Accord Coupe in dark grey (mine), 2011 VW Tiguan in dark green, 2007 Toyota 4Runner in silver, and 2012 Ford Fusion in a light blue.

I appreciate all the help in advance.

Mothers Showtime is a detailer and not a durable LSP. Did you mean something else?

I would opt for the Menzerna polish kit. If you have questions, you will find lots of support since it popular.

That Groit's DA polisher and menz kit is a great combo. I'd go for that one and add in a clay bar to use with that Mother's Showtime, Stoner's Invisible Glass (rocks the house), one grit guard and two buckets, a nice wash mitt, and some tire and trim product like Adam's Super VRT (my personal favorite unless you step up to Gtechniq's C4 permanent trim restorer).

Honestly, that 303 Protectant is good for engine detailing, but tends to run when it rains and really isn't very durable on the exterior of the car. If you want to get really fancy, you can add something like Optimum's metal polish for the exhaust tips and any metal pieces on the cars.

Here is my list (all purchased, will be here on the 16th): I appreciate all your input.

You'll probably want more MF towels. I personally like to have about 10 on hand. I have around 20 now. I have 10 Adam's MFs and 10 of these which appear to be almost exactly the same, but even softer. I bought them when they were on a group buy and they're my favorite MFs. Do you have a good drying towel? I strongly prefer the waffle weave towels. I love Adam's Great White drying towel and I've hard that Pakshak drying towels are also very good. The Microfiber Tech waffle weave drying towel made in Korea looks pretty good although I haven't tried it. I have used their MFs on the car and their microfiber mop for around the house and they're all very high quality.

I have like 30 MF towels already and a couple decent MF drying towels. I'll pick up some waffle weave ones to do the blot and swipe method that I saw somewhere around these boards.
