3m adhesive remover, maybe at napa auto parts. Goof off or goo gone might work also. Any of those are just helps to dissolve the adhesive. Still probably need to scrape it off working side to side with a plastic scraper. Have you tried with just your fingers? That of course would be the safest
I don't know where you can get it, but I bought a rubber "eraser" disc in car paint store. Just put it on a drill and that thing removes the adhesives in no time, and it doesn't harm the paint. I used it to remove the double sided molding adhesive from the doors.
Nice work! The halogens are a great idea. Why in the heck have I been using my wife's blow dryer for so long?!?
I buy 3M adhesive remover by the quart at my local hardware store. Perfect for this type of application, as well as a number of household uses. Be careful - it is strong. Keep away from plastic trim, carpet, etc. The plastic razor blade is perfect, and I also have a small, fairly sharp plastic putty knife I use for the purpose as well.
Heat (but not too much) and presoaking of the adhesive remover make projects like this go pretty quickly. Good luck...
This is what I did: I did not heat up the tape, I just went ahead and wet the double sided tape residues with Goof Off and with a plastic razor I took most of it off. Then I used a microfiber cloth with Goof Off and the rest came right off.
I need to remove the tape residue from the balancing weights that have been left on my rims. Where can I get plastic razor blades locally? I have AutoZone, Advance, PepBoys, Walmart near by me.
The eraser wheel works well, but it shouldn't be used on bumpers. I did not know this when I started on my Mustang. It will heat up the material on the bumper very fast and burn through the paint.
