Hi All,
I recently jumped on the OCD express and bought a black car. It's a 2003 Ford SVT Cobra (10th Anniversary edition) with only 12,000 miles. Although the paint is in very good condition, it does have some swirls and some possible light buffer trails.
I'm concerned that my previous technique -- on a bright red Mustang -- will not be sufficient on a black one. I previously used clay, (and occasionally Sonus SFX2) followed by KAIO and topped with either P21S or Collonite 845. The results were spectacular, but it was much more difficult to see swirls and defects on bright red than it will be with black.
So I'm looking for some advice on which products work best for correcting swirls on Ford Black clearcoat in the hands of a fairly inexperienced detailer with a PC 7424.
If anyone -- especially with experience with Ford paint -- can give me a basic "shopping list" of products and pads, I would really appreciate it -- I'm just totally overwhelmed by the massive number of products to choose from. And I don't want to do anything bad to my new pride and joy.
Thanks in advance.
Here's a pic by the way.
