Looking for some suggestions for new products

I've been using Zaino for about a year and a half now, and it's not that I'm not happy with it, I'm just looking to try out some different products. The paint is starting to to get more swirls and little blemishes, and I'm looking for some products that work together to either hide or remove them, and give a good shine. I would try Z5, but I've heard that it doesn't work real well at covering them up. Also, does anyone still use the Zaino carwash and QD even though you don't use the other Zaino products. Those are two products I really like. Thanks for the help.
 
I really like using Meguiars Body Shop Pro products like DACP and Swirl Free to prep the paint and either Clearkote's Vanilla Moose and Carnauba Moose Wax or Poorboy's Polish w/carnauba and EX Sealant (or VM/EX or PwC/CMW) to finish off the detail. I've tried Meguiars new NXT Wax also and have some really good first impressions, but you can't fully judge a product with just a couple of uses.



If you want to stick with a synthetic routine, the Klasse twins and UPP or even Klasse AIO and UPP work well.
 
I have been using Meguiars #9 to remove some of the lighter swirls, but I've read that you have to wash with dawn after you use it, or Zaino doesn't bond well with the paint or something like that. Which combo would you recommend for a black car that sits outside all the time? I know that question is hard to answer, but I figured you had certain preferences for certain color cars depending on how often they are washed, what conditions they go through, etc. Thanks for the help.
 
If you are switching from Zaino, then you don't have to worry about Dawn washing.



Probably go with Klasse AIO + SG x 3 then top with a layer or two of UPP or a carnauba.
 
Sounds good. Where is a good place to go about ordering those products.



Also, is Swirl Free much more abrassive than Meg #9?
 
Swirl Free is a tad more aggressive than #9.



You can get the Klasse twins here, at the Autopia store and UPP at premium autocare.
 
Would I really see that much of a difference between swirl free and #9? I'm trying to decided whether I should go ahead and get Swirl Free, or just get DACP, since I'm not sure if swirl free will be abrassive enough.
 
Any woodworkers out there? Well I just received my new Mequairs NXT but due to weather and time constraints this past weekend, I was unable to try on my autos. I guess my curious mindset to try it just wouldnt stop and I found myself trying it out on my machined steel top of table saw. Man did I put a smooth finish on it. I have usually in the past used WD40 but from here out it nxt wax!

I'm sure this is not the first table saw to have beened waxed but probally a first for Mequiars NXT GEN WAX

I have a black car and to remove the swirling prior to Zaino I used the Menzerna Polishes because ther is no fillers. If you use something with fillers to remove/hide the swirls the Dawn or AIO will remove the fillers.



I am in the process at looking at AIO/SG instead of the Zaino, which I really like, and come spring when the winter swirls meed adressing it will be the Menzerna twins and Klasse twins. If I'm not happy after a few layers of SG I will revert back to the Zaino.

How did the NXT work out on the table saw? Did you try any cutting with it? On my saw I have been using an old can of Turtle Wax that was given to me. (Hey I did not want to use it on my car and was too cheap to throw it away.) It is just as poor on the saw as it is on a car. Seems to wear out in a month even if I don't use the saw.

AIO and SG I apply to a section at a time and remove. For UPP, I apply it to the whole car then 45-60 minutes later, I go back and buff off the excess. Remember, with SG and UPP, the thinner the layers, the better. I apply both using foam hand pads and with SG, I just dab a few drops into the pad and spread until I feel a slight drag, then apply more and continue. UPP is thicker, but just use small dabs of product at a time.
 
Thanks for the response. How long do you wait between the coats of SG? Also, I have some 100% cotton applicator pads, would those be good for application, or have you had better luck with the foam pads? Oh yeah, this is a stupid question, but is Four Star UPP the same as the Premium UPP? Thanks again for the help.
 
Four Star UPP is the same product as the Premium UPP they just changed the name.
