Looking for my first polisher

Hey guys i'm new to all this & want to learn how to care for my cars better than I have been. I took my fiances car to get detailed a while back & spent $200.00 & was not happy with the results. So I want to learn how to detail our own cars. From what I have read so far it seems like the PC7424 is the best for beginners. Is this correct???

Thanks,
-Mike

You would be correct. Add some good pads, i like Lake Country pads, and some quality polishes and you will be set. Also, welcome to the site

Thanks!!! I was looking at the Poorboy's products but there are so many. What are the basic one's that I should get first? It will be used on a RED Infiniti G35 Coupe. I had it detailed like 6 months ago. I was looking at this kit but do I need all those cutting products? Should I get something like that but use other poorboy's products? Thanks for any advice!!!

Here is a pic of the car.

In the Poorboy's line I would start with SSR2.5,SSR1,Polish w/ Sealant and some Natty's. Then for day to day maintenance your going to want some Super,Slick and Suds, Spray and Wipe and Spray and Gloss. Oh and don't forget some clay. That should get you well on your way to your new addiction.

You've said almost exactly what I would recommend. These are tried, tested and truly good products. I would also tell the OP to take a look at Edge's pads. I know this is a personal preference recommendation but I've liked them a lot.

This would be a great place to start and beyond:
Porter Cable 7424 Polisher & Edge 2000 DA Pad Kit - Specials & Closeouts

Right on man :yourrock I would just say Nattys Blue instead of white. And you can never have enough microfiber towels lol
