Lets just throw out durability for a second. If I wanted my black car to have the best wet look, what wax would I use? I would like to hear from people, that have seen these results before.

thanks,

spiro

Well, if you really want a wet looking shine I recommend Meguiars, they may not be expensive but jeepers, you can really get your car looking wet.

Clay and polish your car as you would if needed, then layer on the Glaze like crazy then use a really really nice wax and layer a few coats of that on. Between the oils in the glaze and the wax oils your car will look very very nice. I wouldn't expect it to hold that look for more than 2 weeks but maybe my standards are high.

I had a 2000 Saturn and everyone I knew always said my car look much much better than it did the day I got it, even with the slimy dealer crap on it. All I ever used was 3M SMR, Meg Glaze and Meg yellow liquid wax. I am sure you can get better wax.

Search for a pic by CARGUY on here. He has a coat of Souveran on his black Porsche. I must say it looks awesome. The pic shows the Souveran can reflecting in the paint. You cannot miss it.

If I put Souveran over Klasse, would that give me the same shine, ad putting Souveran all alone?

It will not give the shine of the wax alone. The Klasse has a shine of it's own and the wax you add to the Klasse Glaze will make the care shine more but not in the same manner as the wax alone.

It's hard to explain, the wax and Glaze just combine to create thier own type of shine, try it and you'll see.

Just remember, once you apply the wax you can't apply more Glaze.

I've already tried 1 AIO/1 SG/1 Blitz. I liked it a lot, but I swear after the first wash it lost its shine.

Yea, it's a little taste test of what is to come.

If your paint is perfect and you have tried to apply the All In One to a small area of your car and do not see any major difference in shine then I would suggest skipping the step, espically if your car is new and always was maintained.

However, I wouldn't recommend layering any type of wax on your car until you have 2 layers of SG Glaze on there at LEAST, I consider 3 layers the least I will ever apply before wax. If you decide to apply three layers, the shine from SG Glaze will be as nice as Blitz or Meguiars wax itself, I can't speak for the wax your using but if there are 3 layers of Glaze on your car the shine overall would be alot better.

So yea, well, I am looking for a new metal polish. I have been using white diamond for about 2 years but I want something that can remove oxidation quicker and producer a brighter shine on exhaust tips, polished wheel lips etc.

What do you guys like and why? Thanks in advance!

I'm not a huge help as I know very little compared to most.

Out of the few I have tried, Collinite Metal Wax 850 has the most "cut" in terms of removing oxidation, rust, etc. It leaves some nice protection as well. I like it because it is easy to use and works great for what I have needed it for.

I was recently introduced to Optimum Metal Polish. I got the old formula, pink stuff and was impressed how it worked on oxidized aluminum... curiously, without the customary black crud! Cut well, finished nice. I'm hearing the new blue formula is even better.

Dave I have used Colomite metal cleaner (so, so), Maas Polish (good on well cared for SS, Aluminum.)

I could never get my tips to pop on the M35 until Barry reccommended p21 Polishing Soap. I really can't tell you how easy it works. You need to rub the sponge over the hard "soap" while the sponger is wet and it just take the film onto the sponge. Then rub it into the metal and the dirt transfer to the sponger. I hit the sponger with the hose before re-applying from container. I don't think I could ever use the wqhole tub up. Hoses right off tips. My tips are not highly polished but they look really good when I am done.

Very true Jeff, but if you really want that extra pop, follow that up with a good metal polish and #0000 steel wool. Dave, I did this on the Bentley that I detailed and followed up with Optimum Metal Polish and #0000. It came out great (IMO).
