Well the title of the thread say it all. I would like to locate a pro detailer in the Lodi Ca. area that can detail my Mom's 95 Mercedes C280. Overall the paint is in good condition just has been very neglected over the years and she has some scratches on the passenger door that are beyond help but a good detail could at least help them a bit. I simply do not have the time to do it.

You are closer than Hanford its down Hwy 99 about 40 miles south of Modesto...I wish that I was closer would do that one no problem

You should have her take it to Autopia in Walnut Creek. I've always wondered if they are as good as their name would imply. They certianly are pricey enough.

Gingerbread

They are in a high income area and that can support those prices....have to say they are high in price....mainly I think its over head more than a higher quality of work....I'd be hard pressed to see anyone do a better job than I do on detailing

My, aren't you a humble fella.

I knew I would take crap for that......LOL:D

I think you know what I mean by overhead they have to get more cash on the details to support the shop...that always doesn't translate into better quality work...if you get my drift

I won't give you too much crap. I know you old guys can't see very well anyway, and you need your eyes to be able to detail better than everybody else. ;) (ok, I'm done giving you crap now. :D)

These convo's make me want to have a "detail show down"... Too bad everyone is soo spaced out.

Dude you wouldn't believe how much I would like to do that, with the hackers that are in this area

That would be fun to do. Take a hammered vehicle, divide it down the middle, and cover one half so the detailer can't see it and then have him detail the half he can see. Then for the other detailer you cover the already done part of the car and have them detail the other half. It would be a perfect way to compare work on the exact same circumstances. I would love to do that to a local detail shop just so I could have pictures of what the best they can do is compared to the best I can do. I wonder what the going rate is for half a detail....?
