Looking for a Car

If you are in the market for a slightly used BMW, you need to check out Select Luxury Cars in Atlanta, GA. They advertise their cars on Ebay after they are on the lot for two months to get rid of them, which is how I found them. Great cars, great prices. We are extremely happy. http://selectluxury.com/

You said that you are looking for a truck, an SUV wouldn't be in that category would it? I'm only asking because I am selling mine. You can check it out in my gallery and pm me if you are interested.

Also, the best place to find used or new car values is www.kbb.com and www.nada.com

Thanks a bunch for the info.

Sorry no, i am looking for a F-250 4 door with a 6 ft. bed, 4WD leather, cd, ect.

Just a work truck :)

Whoa nice Bimmer, those rims come with the car?, they are hot hot hot :)

That particular BMW seems like one hell of a deal if you can steal it for less than 25K. With only 15K on the odo. I really dont think you can go wrong. Just check with a dealer first and run the VIN for any accidents, problems, etc. Good luck with the search.

Thanks, i didnt think of checking the Vin's. Unless i can find one within an hours drive i most likely wont use Ebay for a car.

Ive never Ebayed anything, seems like a weird way to buy someting that can have sooo much wrong with it :(

Ebay was the only way to go for us. We only have one local BMW dealer, and they know it. The prices are absolutely insane. The price we ended up getting for my mom's car even after including a one-way plane ticket and fuel to get back was still less than buying local, plus we got a far better car than what the local dealer was offering.

When buying a car on Ebay (or anywhere for that matter) just make sure to do loads of research. Instead of using email, get a phone# and call them. Run a carfax report, or if you are interested in a car being sold by a dealer they will usually provide one for you via fax. When buying a car from someon on Ebay (dealer) you can also check their feedback to see what past customers have said about their purchasing experience. This means a lot because if anyone has ever gotten screwed you will see it.

When I bought my used 2002 BMW 325Ci last August, I drove over to San Diego from Phoenix to buy it. Just like JDookie said, sometimes it will be worth your time to make a trip. I found the Bimmer on Autotrader.com. Even after going to California, staying for the weekend, and driving two cars home, it was still about 4 grand cheaper than I could have gotten it for here.

It only had 26K miles on the clock and was in great condition. I got it for $23,500 from an auto broker that sells cars for private parties.

I live about 10 minutes from Select Luxury Cars. My dad and I looked for a Mercedes there a few years ago, and we were very impressed with the customer service, the quality of the cars, and the overall experience of looking. Though he didn't end up buying there, we would definitely consider doing business with them in the future. I hear their Ebay service is excellent too, and you have justification of that from JDookie. Try to search their cars up for auction. I know they keep a steady flow cars in their online inventory.

Good luck with your search!

You'll definitly get a better price on a bimmer from a private party or non-bimmer dealer. But if you go through a bmw dealer you are getting a certified pre-owned vehicle. You can't certify a bimmer not bought through a bmw dealership (unless you know someone). May be something you want to check before you buy a used one to see if its cpo'd

You can also extend your maintaince contract though a bmw dealer, i've extended mine to 50,000 miles (which can later be extended to 100,000) on top of the cpo warranty. I'm not sure you can do that with out buying directly from bmw.

Best thing to do is print out the Kelly Blue book and the nada guides price and take it with you. See if you can work off that price.

I may be selling mine soon, if so i'll post it up here incase anyone is interested

yes, that can be done without purchasing the vehicle from a dealer. I extended the maintenance warranty to 100K miles about a month ago and like I said, it was purchased from a private party. Just have to get it in there before the 3 yr or 36k miles is up.
