I finally met my match on a BMW today. Was able to get all the buffer trails but their were swirls I couldnt even touch even with DACP and a Yellow Cutting pad at 6 they didnt go away. So I was wondering what people's suggestions on which rotary to get and why. Probally going to use 7.5" Pads.

isnt there that Hitachi rotary? I remember seeing it for cheeper than some of the rest. Ill look it up if i can find it :)

It's tough to beat the Makita, it's a little more money than the Hitachi, but you can get parts and service locally. I bought mine from a local Makita dealer, they tossed in a bunch of free stuff and I know I can count on them to service it when it breaks.

So its down to the Makita and Hitachi. What does the Makita offer over the hitachi? Its heavier and about 50 dollars more.

Hitachi also gets a five year warranty. There are service centers near me so getting work done isn't an issue. It's lighter(you know that) and costs less.

Basically if anything should ever happen to a makita, you can get it serviced more than likely locally. There is a certified hitachi place down the road, so that wouldnt affect my choice.

The hitachi is lighter and more powerful. You can also find it sometimes for $100 !

Well, I use a Makita but I cut my teeth on a Porter Cable. I used it twice before I found myself hooked. I will sell my Porter Cable for $25 shipped. If you want an inexpensive way to test a rotary.
