Little white specs!

i have been geting little white hard specs on my car. Its only occuring when my car is in the garage. I'd come out in the morning and see these little white specs. I can flick them off with my finger nail. They stick pretty good. It's always in the same spot on my hood. My garage is like a barn, the cieling joists are exposed, no sheet rock or plywood. I thought maybe it was bug poop. I wonder if it's coming from the wood? It's not sappy or sticky. Almost like hardend paint. Leaves about 3-6 little specs. I'll have to take a closer look at that spot above the car, pull out the ladder and take a look up high.

Anyone ever see or here of this.

The joists are probably 10-20 years old.

thanks

Looks like you have 2 choices here:

1) Hire an exterminator to exterminite the garage for bugs

2) But a universal dust cover and cover the car while its in the garage.

Cars aren't safe anywhere....not even in the garage anymore!

wow. this is strange. I learned alot about these today!

My truck HAD (notice had) them and I took it to the auto body shop to get them looked at.

Possibility #1. (The worse)

Solvent Pop. This occurs when chems. in the clear coat rise up and form a little white zit. If you pop it there will be a hole left in the clear coat. The hole is how you tell if it is solvent pop.

Poss. #2

Tree Sap.

Poss #3

paint

Poss #4

droppings. Could be from anything small.

You might want to cehck for bugs right above where the white specs occur.

My spots were sap and paint.
