Little Giant Ladder?

Does anyone have one of these? They've been advertising them on TV like crazy recently. I need to get a ladder, but the price is rather steep and I've never seen one in person. Warner has their version out now ($99 @ Costco) and it's scary! I tried it out and it moved/rattled/shook and didn't feel safe at all. Is the Little Giant worth 3X the price?

I believe my dad has a Little Giant. If you got a pic of one, then I'd be able to tell you.

If that's what he has, then it's very sturdy and works quite well. The only thing about them is they're pretty heavy from what I recall. Of course it's been a few since I've messed with it but that's what I remember about it. They're definately built to last though.

I know of several people (window tinters) who use them on a regular basis for flat-glass work. They all swear by them. I haven't had a need for one yet, but the minute I do, I will be buying THE Little Giant and not a replica.

I have one. 1) Yes, they are expensive (I've blanked out what I paid - :) I bought it at a home show) 2) Yes they are MUCH more stable than any other ladder I've seen 3) Is it worth 3x (or 4x) the other ladder? That would be your call. I made my call when I bought mine.;)

My parents' bought the Gorilla Ladder from Home Depot and the thing is rock solid. Absolutely no movement while standing on it. It can be a little difficult to adjust but I suspect the Little Giant would be too.

I have a Little Giant that must be 20 years old and I use it all the time. Very solid, I (literally) trust it with my/my wife's life. Everybody who's ever borrowed it bought one of their own. My builder's guys ended up getting them after I was all  about their crappy ladders and had them try it. Worth every penny IMO.

I find it *very* easy to adjust, but then I have a lot of experience with it too. There are a few little "tricks" to adjusting it that make it easy to do.

I've had similar, cheaper ladders but I gave them all away at auction. Compred with the Little Giant they were downright dangerous. I'm not gonna risk changing/ending my life over a few dollars.

If you need a ladder, get a Little Giant. How's that for an absolutely positive recommendation :D

I bought one. I weigh over 500 lbs, and TLG is very sturdy when used as a stepladder. I will NOT climb above 3 or 4 rungs with it due to the fact that I am not crazy. :)

When you separate the ladder into 2 pieces, the rungs on the 2 ladders are very, very narrow and are uncomfortable. I don't use the ladder when it is separated. But the average fellow might not have a problem.

Thanks for all of your replies! I'll definitely get one. I just wanted a non-infomercial testimonial that I knew I could trust (why I trust you guys, I don't know;) ). I just bought a 2 story Foursquare that sits about 4' off the ground to begin with, so I'll need a good size ladder to do anything outside. And then with 9' ceilings, I figured this would work inside as well-especailly turning it into scaffolding.

If I didn't already own one, that would be good enough for me :D Hey, maybe I need a second one :lol

I only wish I had bought mine 20 or even 10 years ago :up

For the 17' Type 1A (300 lb. rating) which is the one on the infomercial, they're running between $349-$379 on line. A few sites are including a free workplatform & free shipping right now as well. I'm not sure what the price is if you order from the infomercial.

I figured it was $$$ due to the fact they never divulged the price during the extended infomercial session I watched a week or two ago....it still looks like a cool gadget.

Check out Amazon.com. That's where I got mine from. I think it was about $300-350 for the 9' (as an 'A') one. I think it's 19' extended.

They are great ladders. It's a bit heavy, but not too bad. It's a thick aluminum and solid. I'm very happy with the purchase. :)

Bought one of these puppies. I was very skeptical from the beginning, but no more! It is (a) a very nice piece of equipment, (b) has done some strange things that I would never try with a regular ladder, and (c) it is extremely stable.

This is probably the first ladder I've been on that I haven't had confidence issues with. Even fully extended, it is very stable. And one of the best things about it while using it as a stepladder is this: because it has rungs on each side, you only have to move it 1/2 as much when working around a room (like cutting in when painting).

The only negative I have with it is weight. It's obviously much heavier than a step ladder, and when just using it as a step like to change a light bulb, it's a little cumbersome. But, it's lighter than a standard extension ladder, so if you are using it like that, you're ahead of the game.

Final review-Extremely pleased :up Don't know why I would ever want / need / have another ladder.
