Liquid Souveran

I've got the liquid as well as the paste and, IMHO, it has other ingredients in the liquid. Does a nice job and will probably work when the cold weather hits my garage (but I keep the wax stored in the house).

That sounds like a question you might want to ask down in the Classic Motoring Accessories fourm. Those would be the folks to ask. My experience is that most liquid waxes have enought of a solvent content that it could act as a mild cleaner wax, but I wouldn't expect it to be able to do any real cleaning of the surface. Besides, pure carnauba waxes don't exist in a form you can use on your car. Carnauba is hard as a rock. In order to make it usable on your car it has to be changed quite a bit. Paste Souveran is a damn fine carnauba if you want a good paste. Liquid Souveran is by far my favorite liquid wax. I'm looking for some new liquid waxes to try next year just to see if anything compares, but I think LS will still be the best as far as I'm concerned. Its really nice stuff. :bigups :bow :bow

well i own LS and use it on other cars besides my own. i am really impressed and would use it on my own car but i don't know if it will strip the klasse off my truck.

I did a test of this product on my non-cc red Miata. The results are that it DOES NOT have cleaners in it. Bear with me while I find and post the links to the pics.

Four different types of applicators, with LS on a non-clearcoat red decklid. In each case I applied as much pressure as I dared, trying to get the LS to pick up the pigment, and it would not grab any red. (Dman nice looking wax, too.)

Yay! Mosca that is some good news. I can put in on top of my Klasse then!

I put in on my girlfriends car and was SOOO jealous. Now it's my turn!

Just because it wouldn't pick up paint doesn't mean that it doesn't have cleaners in it. It just means that there wasn't any oxidation on your car for it to clean off. Unless you can show stained red applicators used with products known to have cleaners in them, then I have to still wonder if this showed that LS doesn't have any. I'm not knocking your test at all... I'm just not convinced that it followed the scientific method of proving a theory. Ya know what I'm sayin? You need another test group of applicators used with something like Meguiar's Gold Class that we know has some cleaners in it to complete the demonstration.

BTW, what's that black thing? Is that some kind of XM radio antenna or something? I don't remember seeing anything like that on the back of Miatas before.

Sweet! Now that is what I call testing. :bigups Thanks for checking that for me dude. I've wanted to layer LS on top of UPP or SG worry free, but I've been afraid of what it would do to the sealant underneath. Now I can rest a little easier. :bigups

Thanks Mosca. Like Jngrbrdman I can now rest easier putting it on top of the SG.

Question: I recently (about 1-2 weeks ago) applied Meg's #26. After seeing LS on my girlfriends car I can see it is better than #26. However, should I just be patient and wait two months or so for the #26 to come off? I ask because I am really excited about the LS and want to try it but not waste it. I wouldn't think it can layer over the #26 and I don't want to try to remove it (5 layers of SG underneath).

Thanks guys and once again props to Mosca for checking.:up :up

I've put paste Souv over #26 and it looks different, so my guess is that you'll see a difference with LS as well.

Give #26 its due though, on appearance. At first I thought the Souv was better, but now I think it's just different (not one over another, but each one alone). It's like, do you prefer a German pilsner or an English ale? Well geez, they're both a pleasure, but sometimes I want the ale and sometimes I like the pilsner.

Also, the LS doesn't last very long. A month here in the northeast, tops, on a garage-kept car.

I dunno.... I've had pretty good durability with it. Its pretty on par with most liquid waxes. I can get 4-6 weeks with it before I notice the beads are getting a little too big to be considered beads.

I agree Mosca. I do have to give #26 its due. It is certainly not a bad wax but like you said a matter of preference.

I found that the LS lasted around 2 weeks in a non garaged car so around a month for garaged seems right.

That is where I have to give #26 its due as well, durability. I am so impressed. For 2 months, constant crazy beading. I put another coat on just because I wanted to wax my car again, not because it didn't last.

I loved the look that LS gave to a '93 Topaz, I can't wait for it on my '03 GTI!!!

Also props to Autogeek for having the promotion that let me get LS for free :up :up

I have LS over Blackfire on my mom's Stratus and it is awesome. Good durability (albeit, the beads are getting larger, it's been 2 months or so--but with BF under it I'm sure the car is still "protected" as long as it looks fine--I don't worry a whole lot). Good combination in my opinion. LS is very easy to work with too. Nice product.
