Lint snuck into my mf!!!

zesty-man

how do ya like it?
well, on sunday it was a really sad day. as i was trying to buff off some klasse SG, i n noticed some lint on the hood. i looked carefully, and i noticed with every pass there seemed to be lint. not a lot of lint, but enough to tick me off. the odd thing is, im 100% sure that i didnt have anything else besides mfs when i washed my mf stuff. im thinking that maybe the lint came from my mom. maybe, after she was done doing her laundry, there was some left over lint in the machine, and that lint got into my mfs. is that a possibility??? is there anyway i can prevent this kinda thing from happening?

I'm not sure how to completely prevent lint from getting into the towels, but I find that if you flap them around pretty hard before use you can get the loose lint that would make a mess out of the towel. Perhaps there is still some caught in the fibers but if it doesn't show up on mthe paint I don't see it as a problem.

I wipe down the dryer with an ISO/water mix before I put my towels in.

Family meetings on the importance of your towels may work, but you will get some crazy looks. :cool

Fluppi looks interesting, probably it'll work. Or you could put them in the washing machine (check that it's lint free this time) and take it for a few spins, see if it's any better. I've been handwashing all my MF and so far they don't have the lint problem :)

hehe, handwashing, thats just not for me. is there a way that i can "rinse" the washing machine before actually putting anything in there? i wanna do just a really quick rinse to get any lint out, but i dont wanna use a lot of water doing it. maybe i should just grab a couple of paper towels and swipe around a bit

civic, a couple questions. first, whats ISO? and second, what kinda rag do you use to wipe it down?

Isopropyl alcohol. I use a costco MF. :)

ahhh chemisty class.... propyl alcohol = proponal??? what do you do with the costco mf after you finish getting all the lint off? wash it?? hehe

I got lint on my mf towels when I washed them with my terry cotton towels. Now that I wash them seperately I have no problem. :)
