Light scratch on leather seat

Hey everyone, I just picked up a new car last week and it has black leather seats. A few days after delivery, I noticed that there was about a 3 inch scratch / scuff on the passengers seat upper bolster. The scratch is very faint and can only be seen at certain angles, but it still bothers me. The strange thing is that there doesn't seem to be much or any abrasion to the leather, so I'm thinking the scratch might just be in the top coating of the leather (clear coat?).



My question is - is there any way to remove this from the leather? Any advice is appreciated.
 
Do you have a pic? In a lot of ways leather is similar to paint in that too deep is too deep. All leather starts out as suede and is dyed and sanded flat and then dyed again. In all likelihood in order to "fix" it it will need some dying. If you are a real DIY'er I'm sure you can find info on that online. Your best bet is to hire a leather guy. If you're in a major city you can probably find a mobile guy. Otherwise call a leather furniture repair place. Or if you wanna go super cheap just get a super fine sharpie and fill it in. But I didn't tell you that.

That's why I'm kind of optomistic, because the scratch doesn't appear to be deep at all. It can only be seen in direct sunlight at certain angles. I'm curious if there are other mehtods / products I could try before going to a re-dye solution, re-dying would be my last resort.

I'm actually right outside of Philadelphia. I'll try to take a pic in the morning, but I honestly don't know if it will even show up, it's very faint.
 
If the pigment is scratched it needs fixing and no amount of cleaning and 'conditioning' will make it go away.



Try a Leather Repair Pen mixed to match your colour which are great for these type of fine surface scratches.

I have heard that Ultra Polish removes and repairs scratches safely. I dont know that either will it work on leather or not. but you can get advise from your detailer.
