So, this is about license plate frames. Personally, I like the solid ones that look like a picture frame. Mine happen to be chrome, painted is fine and even solid plastic is good when it matches the car. What I think looks really tacky are the frames the dealer puts on the car. It's free advertising for the dealer. I mean, you see a nice car on the road, it's five years old and it's still got those dealer frames on the plates. I think they are only one step above bumper stickers, at least they don't damage the paint (most of the time).
Then there are the frames with a message or joke. Like, "I saw the Grand Canyon" or "My other car's a Porsche". Tacky, tacky, tacky.
