I'm sort of at a loss here. Our state frowns on but does not outlaw (yet) clear covers on our plates. Nevertheless I was thinking of buying either the screw cap covers kits, or some at Lowes, etc. I currently have stainless screws on our plates, but while they themselves don't rust, the plate and the frames are not very healthy looking. The plates were just renewed, and the frames are Cruiser black metal.
Our plates are steel, and I was wondering what typs of screw would not have an adverse reaction to the metal of the plates and frames? Plus would also fit inside the screw caps wether they be from Lowes or in the kits for sale? I hate rusty screws as much as I hate rusty plates (I hate front plates too, but that's another story).
I may be willing to try nylon screws, but having lost a plate due to cracked heads on the screws....
