Weather: Snow, windy, and cold (wind chills around 10)

Normally, I am not outside doung ANYTHING to my car under 50 degrees but I had to do something today. I could not bear the inside of the Max looking like the Cavalier that Redcar Guy Posted a few weeks ago. In a fit of Severe Autopiosis, I did a quick clean on the inside of the Max. I broke out my diluted HI, Stoners, 2 Terry Towels, and a cotton diaper for the Windows. The first thing I did was to clean the dash using the diluted HI on a terry towel. Then I cleaned the other plastic areas (e.g. around the shifter, by the radio, etc.). After cleaning the vinyl on the doors and the dash, I applied the vinylex to the other terry towel and applied the dressing to the dash, door vinyl, and the steering wheel.

After cleaning and dressing the dash, I cleaned the windows with Stoners and the diaper. After cleaning the windows, I vacuumed the interior.

Finally, I needed to clean the outside windows because they had become gimy from all sorts of road dirt and salt. I took the Stoner's and cleaned the outside windows to get the gunk off.

I also did a quick clean on the wiper blades using Stoner's and the diaper.

This took me around 30 minutes to do but I am happy that the inside of my car is much cleaner than it was..:D

Good job bud! I've been working on the interior more lately too. Even if the exterior is rain stained and muddy it's so nice to get inside a shiny and clean smelling interior.

I've gotten hooked on another Stoner's interior product too. Their foaming carpet cleaner works really well and imho smells nice and clean too. I use it on my carpet and and on the cloth seats.

I had my truck at the stereo store for a few upgrades today. When I came back to pick it up the installer raved about how nice it was to do an install in a clean and nice smelling vehicle. Truthfully it was all I could do not to back down there, during the install, with my shop vac so that I could do a thorough vacuum while the rear seat was removed. :xyxthumbs

Lexus RX450h: Complete Detail and Opti-Coat Protection

So I had originally planned on doing a much more in depth write up on this Lexus, but unfortunately the owner and his friend showed up earlier then expected, and I was just starting to take after pics when they walked in. Since I don't like to keep people waiting, I was only able to snap a few after pics, but you should still see the dramatic difference between them. This car only had 9xxx miles, and the exterior came in the condition you see in the before pics from the dealer.

So I taped up a 50/50 section, but apparently I forgot to take the after pics with my DSLR....I think I used my phone to send it to someone and then spaced it out.....this test panel was using M105/MF. The drivers side had a lot more RIDS for some reason and I wanted to see what M105/MF would do to them. Well, it actually cut better and even finished down better then D300 on this paint! It was very dependant on technique though so I'll need to play with this combo some more.

Nice work Rasky, that thing was a disaster. I'm glad that the M105/MF pad worked out so well for you, I really need to pick up that system. Thanks for a great post!

Really wish you could have gotten more pics based off how good the ones you did take came out. Truly looks like a brand new ride - as it should. I really like those weather tech floor mats: they can save carpet unlike anything else in our northern Winters.
Great job Chad!

Thanks guys!

Marc, if it had been just the owner waiting I would have taken more, but his friend that drove him to pick it up seemed as if he were in a hurry, and he most likely didn't know how to get home from where he was. O-well...There will be other cars :)

This was originally going to be for a blog article too....

Thanks again! :)

BRAVO!!!!!
What a great job Chad. The before and afters were amazing. That MF system really seems to finish down nicely. I am surprised how trashed it was though. The interior was a complete mess, and now it looks brand new. What did you use to get all that dog hair up?
Awesome work my friend.:Dancing Dot:

Thanks Barry! Most the mess on the interior was contained in the Weather Tech mats. The dog hair just took a little extra vacuuming. ;)

Excellent work Chad!

Thanks Jeff! :)

Amazing work as usual Chad.

Can you go through your process to clean the engine?

1. Did you spray the engine down? If so, light stream hose?

2. Did you use a brush or mit for the top of the hood?

3. After an engine wash, do you use any type of lube on the latch?

4. Do you do all of your engine details the same, or do you treat different manufacturers differently? For example, I've read online by some that "European Cars" can be a bit more tricky for engine cleaning and can lead to problems starting. Any truth to it?

Thanks.

Products used for valeting

Hi fantastic work however you mention many of the products in abbreviated form which we in England are not aware of or indeed have difficulty in purchasing.
May I be so bold as to ask if you could find the time to give the full name of the product yopu use and if that product could be purchased in England.
Unfortunetly people in England do not eminate the valeting standards as achieved in the USA.
Thank you for your time.
Bill
