LEXUS LS 430 JUST DETAIL for wedding car

Come on guys be honest. I'm sure a few of you have tried this or have had good results with other car washes. And before, I get this repeated line, "But the Zaino wash is such good stuff. It's the best wash ever! Nothing will ever be as good as the Zaino wash," etc... I really want to focus on people's experiences with different car washes, especially Pinnacle and P21. I really don't see a problem using these other car washes. However, I would think that it would be prudent to use the Zaino wash just before you're going to add some more Z-2 or Z-5. Thanks in advance guys. Laters

P.S. There's no way that I'm going to let the Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo be excluded from my car washing practice. Ideally, I'd like to use this and the Zaino wash, perhaps just saving the Zaino for the day I'll add additioinal coats.

Don,

I have not tried Pinnacle or P21 but I am sure both would work fine. I have used Meguiars Gold Class on a Zainoed 2001 Avalon and had no problems at all. I know many that don't wash with Z7 all the time because of the $$$, and they dont want to have to reorder every few weeks. A few friends of mine use other washes with Zaino, I will ask them tomorrow and see what they say. You should be fine with any quality wash.

Good Luck!!

Those were some of my concerns as well. Info from your friends would be readily accepted. I'm glad that you mentioned the Meguiar's Gold Class as that is a car wash that I do like and have plenty of. Any other testimonials? Brad B? Darbh? Thanks again.

Seriously, you will be fine. Just use the Z7 as you mention - as the last wash prior to applying more Zaino if you want. I have never used the Pinnacle shampoo but from what I have learned it is a mild, quality product. Zaino can handle it.

I really haven't experimented all that I would like but I have found that if I wait 48 hours or more between coats, I get the best coat-to-coat results. Starting the next coat out with a wash of Z7, dry and then QD immediately after (with Z6). Then Z2 or Z5. IMHO 24 hours between coats is rushing things. This, I think, is good advice - especially this time of year when the weather is cooler. Zaino needs heat and sun to really cure out completely - or plenty of garage time.

I use meguiars gold class shampoo. No problems. It gets about the same results that z-7 does. In fact the distributor I got the zaino from said I could use just about any decent car wash soap I wanted too without a problem.

Don a thread started by you? how cool ;)

How about the opposite? Does the Z wash work well on a Klasse and/or Blitzed car? or does it react negatively?

Any good quality shampoo you use will be infinitely better for your car than what you used to do to it. Admit it. You went to the car wash. Z7 would be fine on Klasse. Pinnacle is fine on Zaino. That pink powder they pore into the soap bin at the car wash - no. But it does remove axle grease.

Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo and P21S shampoo both work fine over a Zainoed finish but, as you may have guessed, Z7 works better. I don't know the chemistry but it seems to add/maintain the slickness better. However a quick shot of Z6 will rectify that right away, too.

And yes, Zaino Shampoo will work just fine on a Klasse Finish as well as a carnuba finish. Z7 is pretty strong shampoo, however, and will cut into a carnuba finish a bit. It will actually remove a Pinnacle Paste Glaz finish.

<strong class='bbc'>Don, you mean you actually thought there was a combination I hadn't tried? I thought you knew me better![/b]

Don,

I talked to my Zaino friends today and they gave me a list of shampoos that they have used over Zaino with no problems. Here it is:

1. Meguiars Gold Class

2. P21S

3. Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo

4. EF Power Wash

5. Meguiars Soft Gel Wash (That pink stuff)

And of course they sometimes use Z7. They liked EF Power Wash the best, and they said it gave tons of suds that dont fall after a few minutes, and it is really good at cleaning cars that are extra dirty. And they liked that it is $8.95 for 32oz instead of the regular 16oz bottle. They really love it for winter use when the cars get salt and all that other road crap stuck to them.

Anyway I have been rambling long enough, have fun washing! :)

Great info guys. I guess I just needed a little moral support as I was going to use different car washes anyway. If there's one thing that I absolutely hate, it is being tied down to a particular line of products. I'll never do that in a million years!

Hey Brad, yeah I and others here are well aware that you've tried every conceivable car care product combination known to mankind. This is why I brought up your name. "You Da man!" And in addition to your expertise, I feel assured knowing that you are going to give honest, objective, and non-emotional advice. This is why you're one of the few guys that I feel confident enough to ask questions via personal email. Thanks to all. Laters.

Menu for the paint work -

ONR rinseless wash - 3 micro fibers
Clay with mild clay - with ONR wash as lube
Quick wipe down

Test spot....Lake country Cutting pad with Meguiars M 105 - speed 1 to spread speed 2 - moderate pressure - speed 3 slow movement

resulting 80% light swirls diminishing, but RIDS aka deeper random scratches still very visible

change to
Lake country double sided pad with Meguiars M 105 - speed 1 to spread speed 2 - moderate pressure - speed 3 moderate & slow movement

much more better results but some RIDS is visible 10 % left

after 3 more passes with LC wool - seems more satisfactory

now - only when the surface is clean ... wiping off with microfiber, paint begins to smear...night mare begun

extremely soft & sticky paint as this was only repainted a couple of months ago....

i have to back down with LC cutting pad speed 1 to spread speed 2 - moderate pressure - speed 3 moderate & slow movement

change all to completely new micro fibers
