I did this detail on my buddies car last week. Rundown on the exterior is as follows:

1) Chemical Guys Citrus Wash

2) Clay

3) Malco Tru-Grit Compound

4) Chemical Guys Jet Seal 109

This car really took a beating over the winter and there were so many swirls that needed to be leveled out. I used a PC7424xp to complete this detail. My buddy was happy with the results. Let me know what you think.

man that thing was dirty

total time spent?

so is the Malco Tru-Grit Compound a heavy duty polish, did it leave any haze behind? how many passes?

I spent under 4 hours on this car. The Malco Tru-Grit compound is a great product. It breaks down nicely and has abrasive qualities before it breaks down. I passed over this car 1x for each step.

90% of the swirls were removed on this detail using the steps above. I explained to my friend that I could spend all day on the car to correct the paint with multiple passes, products, etc. This was the most time efficient way to erase the "winter look".

We were both curious to see the results with a 1x pass with all the products to deliver a high quality, time efficient, "standard detail", to our clients.

BTW: I also used Malco Brake-Off for the wheels - Great product!

Never heard of Malco products, but they seemed to have done a good job on those wheels, they were hit. Good job!
