Ahhhhh, that brings back memories. I had a big bottle of that Armour all original protectant and car wash.

The car wash wasn't half bad. It was very good actually, cleaned well. Something I would use again if I did not have Meguiars Gold Class, Pinnacle, and C.

I will never let my Vinylex go.

The Meguiars KIT is good for the average consumer though...

The Microburst towel got from Target (3) the general cleaning one marred the heck out of my BMW M coupe (red.) Not the mar into the clear, put in to the SG.

I would keep these Microburst towels away from paint and only for glass/door jambs.

Just my 2 cents

Don: Now THAT is being diplomatic. ;) My mother, who would repeat the old saying, "If you can't say anything good, don't say anything at all," would be proud of you. :)

2009 IS-F....medium swirling. Here was the process:

Based off previous experience with Lexus paint, I formulated this plan:
Foam
Wash
Dry
Clay (Meguiar's white clay)
Flex/Orange/M105 - 2 passes on each panel
G110v2/White/M205 - 1 pass on each panel
Foam
Wash
Dry
Zaino Z5 Pro (ZFX'd) X 2
Zaino Z8

Aquawax on the wheels and glass
Giovanna Tire Gel on the tires

Here are pictures taken in the garage, after polishing:

Great job Dave. You really amped up the gloss to a very high level.

How did you get that over head shot of the car (very cool)?

Awesome job, Dave !!!

I had an '08 IS350, Tungsten Pearl for about a year, and the paint on that car was also very nice -believe I heard that Lexus color sands their vehicles prior to polish at the Factory, and if this is true, that explains why you never see any orange peel on a Lexus, right ?

When I took mine in to trade it for my Jeep, it was also done similarly and finished with Zaino except I used AIO, Z2 x 3 + Zaino Clear Seal, and it was the nicest looking trade in on their lot! :)

Beautiful job, bet the Owner was stunned !!!

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the comments guys. It was a nice car to work on. It did have some orange peel, but nothing extreme.

Regarding the overhead shots, the garage was at basement level, so there was about a 10 foot stairwell leading onto the main house. Made for some cool pics.
