Lexol or Leatherique?

How much better is Leatherique product when compared to Lexol? Is it really worth 3 times the cost of Lexol?

I just got my first Porsche, so I do want to keep the leather seats in it in great shape, since it is my daily driver.

Leatherique is a great product. But following the instructions and letting your car sit out in the hot sun with windows up is important after applying the RO.

I usually do the leatherique treatment twice a year then maintain every few months with zaino Z-9/10.

I've used Sonus, Coach and Leatherique ...and Lexol for years on saddles before having a Pecar. They all seem to work.

I sort of like the Castor Oil factor of Leatherique. Somehow going thru all the B.S. using this gummy oil quite simply must mean; it works better ..but I'd bet that's 80% self-deception.

If you read about tanning of hides, you get the impression this stuff may mostly be only surface dressing. Since I don't really know; I keep using the stuff anyway.

I've used Lexol for a long time and although I have tried other products I keep going back to it. I probably do my interior with Lexol about 4 times a year and on my last trade-in the dealer could not believe how good my leather seats were.

To be real honest I think one mistake a lot of people make with leather upholstery is overdoing it.

The simplest and most important thing you can do is to wipe down your leather regurlarely with a damp MF. This will remove acidic body oils and soiling, which can damage the leather over time. You want to avoid high Ph cleaners which can also damage the leather. Apply a quality conditioner twice a year or so to replenish any lost oils. The think the difference you will see between the Lexol and Leatherique will be marginal at best.

Darn it, well I am still undecided. I posted in my Porsche forums, no definitive answer there either.

I want to make sure I take care of the leather. I want to keep my both current cars for a long time and I want to soften leather a bit on both cars. I drive 25K miles plus each year, both of the cars work hard.

You guys gave me awesome suggestion on QD and wax, I love the combination so much I bought bulk package of each.

Now it is time for leather care suggestions.

i have both products...leatherique seems to do a better job , its some strong stuff an brought me out in a rash when i didnt use gloves (they say you should)

having said that from what i understand modern leather is coated and most products will just sit on top like a dressing

the above that suggests frequent wiping to remove sweat and body oils is v good advice
