Just found two of these lying around, back from my swimming days. Luckily enough one of them was unopened, it says its "synthetic leather, virtually indestructible :D , wash in machine, store wet in box, cannot rot, does not fluff." I am thinking of using it dry my car (checked the Speedo website, they're $15.00 each, size: 45x33cm, and available in different colours), just wondering if there are any reasons I shoudln't use it???

I stink at web searches how about a link to SPEEDO no wait I do not wanna see any marble sacks.

No Wait do they have show women suits??

bboy850, as long as you don't rub hard, it shouldn't irritate your skin ;)

just use it on glass (do a cd test to see where it gages in comparison to a microfiber) :)

so is yours blue, aqua, pink, or lemon yellow :D

if it doesn't scratch the cd, it won't scratch your car

if it does, then you'll have to try it on your car to determine

either way, I wouldn't try it on a even slightly dirty car since it is not plush enough to pick up debris just push them around (while creating nice swirls)

no scratches...rubbed it hard on the cd even made some noise...i think if i don't drag the chamois then it'll be less prone to scratching...

Yeah, so let's just say I'm not the creator of that quote  , but I'm trying to get a little idea of a lighting setup. I'm going to start trying to do some detailing for $ and want to see what you pros have for a set up in your shops. Currently, I'll be working out of my 2 car garage.
Thanks for everyone's constant helpful advice here...and I LOVE all the show and shines on this site! You all are amazing! I can only hope (and work!) to be as good as you all are!

I also work out of my 2 car garage and have 2 halogen light stands, both 1000W units with 2 500W bulbs in each stand. I just recently picked up a Brinkmann dual xenon hand held from Angelo at PAC and love that for spot checking before and after some sections.

I position my 2 light stands along my work area and simply move them around as I progress around the vehicle. Works perfectly but it's HOT!!!

I will occasionally trip my garage breaker when running both light stands and my machine but I reset and go back to work, sometimes with just one light stand. Some one of these days I'm gonna upgrade the garage electrics!

Heat is DEFINITELY going to be an issue for me, since I'm in Phoenix, AZ. I think scientists come to AZ to conduct experiments on what it must be like on the surface of the sun! LOL
