Let the pictures do the talking!

Detailing Fool
Hey all, My friend Al brought his sweet Infiniti G35 6MT Coupe over yesterday for a winter make over.. His Girl is a daily driver and he takes quite good care of her. However he had a few hood scratches repaired and who ever repaired her left some pretty good rotary swirls and haze. Plus the entire paint coat needed a bit of TLC to bring her back to life. I won't go into repetitive details about techniques and applications... I think most of us have that part down.. But I will let these pictures do the talking.. She came out very nice and the wet look is pretty good... If you have used Menzerna products and the Klasse SG you know how nice they work together...

I used the the #9227 Makita, Variable Speed Rotary Polisher w/ Orange pad and Menzerna IP on the hood followed by Menzerna FP with an orange pad...

Then we both did the whole vehicle using our Porter Cable Orbital Polishers #7424 w/ white pads and Menzerna FP..

After a quick hand wash using Menzerna Auto Shampoo we hand applied Klasse Sealant Glaze and hand buffed her out to a high shine using plush microfibers and Meguiars Final Inspection.

YOU CHEATED!

How did you get that "mirror mylar" to get to stick conformally to the shape of the car?

Excellent work!

tcfool - That looks awesome! That must have put a big smile on your buddies face.

Absolutely love that car too.

:scared Very reflective!!! great job!

Did you use the 6.5" LC orange or the new constant pressure one?

Normally i go with a white pad and FP, how'd the orange work out?

I love detailing g35's, nice panels to work on.

Shoot I thought my Souveran pics were the best black car photos...back to the drawing board...

Great work! :bow

Thanks all! I used the 6.5" LC orange pad.. it was a good pad.. I was really wanting to use it on those stubborn rotary swirls with the IP and it did the job nicely..

What do you think of the Menzerna Shampoo

Not sure I really like it.. the suds action is not to my liking but I have to use it up and it does the job just need to agitate the heck out of it to keep it sudsy.... :p

Damn you had me until you closed up on the orange peel :)

But seriously it looks awesome! Razor sharp reflections.

What kind of rims on there?

I like how Klasse makes vehicles hyper-reflective yet allow the color to show. Can't really critique it, orange peel is not your fault. Great work!

tctool,

Sweet car, killer detail, and great pics!

But the orange peel!!! AAARG!.

Are you comfortable wetsanding? Fifty bucks a panel. Oughta be a money maker next time!

Nice jorb,

Thanks all... but I think that particular picture exaggerates an Orange Peel effect that really is not that bad... My camera takes really detailed shots and it captures light and subtle angle reflections well. Infiniti is not known for it's great factory paint, however, I am sure the picture is a bit misleading...

Thanks again!

Nice work & great reflections...I am surprised to see the level of orange peel because I have seen so many G35s that look sharp on the road.

Is that a custom front end?

Hey guys. I'm TC's bud with the coupe. I was so impressed with the SG that I'm ordering the twins. I've read some of the sites that says it might amplify swirls but the opposite was true. It did a great job in hiding them. Also, the car has never looked so dark. It's definitely not sterile looking.

The wheels are 19" Racing Hart CP-F Tuned, 1 piece, lightweight, and forged. The front has an aftermarket Data Systems grill.

Sorry about the orange peel. The paint job from the factory was not that great. It's noticeable in person but it doesn't seem as noticeable as in those pics though.

BTW, TC is going to have his car pimped out very shortly. His car looks freakin awesome.
