Legacy GT, Mazda 3, 14 y/o Camaro, and black S500 details

First up, a 2005 Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT Wagon.

This color is the same as 'Jngrbrdman' and having seen all of his gorgeous pictures, I knew what was expected of this finish :). This particular vehicle belongs to a repeat customer of mine (did this car a year ago) and was pretty beat-up. Moderate swirling, heavy contaminants, and moderate soil levels left for a fun cleaning job :). My finals were:

-Optimum Wash
-Zaino Z18 Clay with Optimum Wash as lube
-Blackfire Ceramiclear Polish + CK RMG (70/30) via rotary and LC Polishing Pad @ 1500 rpm (x 2 in some areas)
-Zaino Z6 Wipedown
-Zaino Z2 Pro (ZFX'd) by hand

-Zaino Z12 on headlights, foglights, mirror blinkers, and taillights
-Zaino Z16 on tires and trim x 3
-CD-2 Engine Detailer in wells

Next up, 2004 Mazda 3.

Detailed a little over a year ago by 'Clean Dean', it suffered a bit from Hoboken, NJ brutality. Tons of bonded contaminants, tar, soil, and bumper scuffs. However, once washed and heavily clayed, there were nearly NO swirls or marrs. I had to check many areas to make sure, but I was very surprised. My finals were:

-Optimum Wash
-Zaino Z18 Clay with Optimum Wash as lube (took about 40 minutes)
-CK RMG via rotary and LC Finessing Pad @ 1200 rpm
-Zaino Z6 Wipedown
-Zaino Z2 Pro (ZFX'd) by hand

-Zaino Z12 on headlights, foglights, side blinkers, and taillights
-Zaino Z16 on tires and trim x 3
-CD-2 Engine Detailer in wells

Next, a 1994 Camaro, only 44k miles :).

This car was in AMAZING shape for it's age. The hood had moderate swirling, but most of the other car was in pretty good shape. The clay picked up nearly nothing and when done, the paint was far deeper and wetter than when I started. My finals were:

-Optimum Wash
-Zaino Z18 Clay with Optimum Wash as lube
-Hi-Temp Extreme Cut and Optimum Car Polish (50/50) via rotary and LC Cutting Pad @ 1500 rpm on horizontals
-Blackfire Ceramiclear Polish + CK RMG (70/30) via rotary and LC Polishing Pad @ 1500 rpm
-Zaino Z6 Wipedown
-Zaino Z2 Pro (ZFX'd) by hand

-Zaino Z12 on headlights, foglights, and taillights
-Zaino Z16 on tires and trim x 3

Last up, a 2001 MB S500.

Covered in heavy swirls, this metallic black paintjob was in dire need of compounding and polishing. My finals were:

-Optimum Wash
-Zaino Z18 Clay with Optimum Wash as lube
-Hi-Temp Extreme Cut and Optimum Car Polish (50/50) via rotary and LC Foamed Wool Pad @ 1500
-Blackfire Ceramiclear Polish via rotary and LC Finessing Pad @ 1500 rpm (x2 on horizontals)
-Zaino Z6 Wipedown
-Zaino Z2 Pro (ZFX'd) by hand

-Zaino Z12 on headlights, foglights, and taillights

Question, Comments, Advice, feel free.

Cheers!

Sean, Nice work as always. I'm really liking the Black ceramic clear products on your work ..

Anthony: It's still more of a side gig. I did 6 cars over three days (only posted 4 obviously), but am actively searching for a career in corporate America. The one I'm looking for has to allow for some time to dedicate to detailing :).

joe: It's truly a great product. I'm just about done with my second bottle. I think I've used it on 95%+ vehicle I've done.

Thank you!

OMG! Just Amazing Sean. Your work is top shelf -no doubt about it.

Not that I'm one to judge..... but I can't think of many others that consistently do work at your level -which is a huge compliment to your skills.

I worked on a 2000 300M this weekend. 3 hours on the interior, and 4 on the exterior, and most of your before shots look better (LOL).

One question. What did you think of the RMG/Z2 combo? It sure looks good on silver paint?

Once again....
:hail

Tell Liz that Michael says 'Hi'. He brought out his remote control 4x4 tonight and remembered that Liz helped him set it up :)

I'm in complete agreement!

Joe P. Not trying to hi-jack....

I've tried most of the new BF line. IMO, the clear finishing polish is the 'gem' in the line up. I like it even better than P085RD (which I never thought I'd say), because it cleans up light/moderate swirls and finishes 'perfect'. I've used it for 4 months on most every color -new/old paint, etc, and it's hands down the best finishing polish that I have.

Zaino works like magic with this polish (after a Z6 wipe down). IMO, you're better off investing in Z5Pro vs. wet diamond. I've used both, and initially they are close (subjective to the eye, of course...) but after a few washes, and exposure to weather Z pulls WAYYYY ahead.

how much did you charge for each one of the vehicles.....and about how long did each car take
thanks
that camaro is unreal its like looking into a a liquid mirror, phenominal job

Amazing Work as usual. How do you like incorporating the RMG as a mix or as a stand alone?

I swear I want those BF Polishes, the Compound and Finishing Polishes seem to cut higher than your normal light polish or medium polish, yet finish amazingly.

Thank you for all of the kind words!

joe: Nope, that's the sealer, here is the polish:

John: I think you lie! I bet the 300m turned out great.

The BF/RMG mix was nice...I always tend to get a bit of dust with the BF polish (only downfall I know of) and the RMG helped it stay "wet". Did it add anything? Maybe, I didn't notice a big difference overall, but on silver, it looked outstanding.

 at the 4x4.

BlackWRX: For instance, the Mercedes (int/ext detail) was $200 and took 4.5 hours.

Woob: RMG is a very good product and doesn't give me the feel that it's full of oils. In the end, I still do a Z6 wipedown to cut out the oils before laying down the Z2 Pro. Finishes like the Mazda are few and far between so I only really see it as a mix for now with the BF polish.

The BF ceramiclear polishes are excellent...You won't be disappointed.

I agree, but would suggest purchasing a separate container/dispenser for the BF polish/sealer products. Every one of my BF bottles has been a total PITA. The cap has cracked off, the spout clogs easy, squeezing the bottle gently to apply a bead is next to impossible. The product is excellent -the packaging is as pi** poor as I've ever seen.

Dead on! I hate it.

Man you got to stop showing us these great results! Is the BF Sealer worth getting? Anyone see the new Metal Polishes they came out with? The Final Metal Polish is insanely expensive.

They all look great, specially the mazda 3. I have the same color and after a year I am amazed at how I have no swirls or marring. I take obsessive care of the paint but even with the best care you can get swirls but I have none that I can see, and I have really looked. I guess the paint is better then people think, my only real problem is rock chips :fear:

Today i was on the site to check the price of the polish with shipping
I havent poped for the polish as of today. I don't mind the price of the polish, it was the $7.95 for shipping

All of them look excellent Sean!!

Sean any idea what ingredient in the wheel brightener turns the rotors orange? I get that when I use the WB. It goes away after driving but I am curious.

P.S. we have talk cameras and lenses again.

Thanks

Greg
