We all (hopefully) know about right turn on red after stopping but it strikes me that many people don't know that in certain circumstances, you can make left turns on red as well, usually only from a one-way onto another one-way.
Left turn on red under any circumstances is prohibited in:
Connecticut
Missouri
New Hampshire
New Jersey
North Carolina
Rhode Island
South Dakota
Washington D.C.
Some states even permit left turn on red from a two way onto a one way. They are:
Alaska (not on red left arrow)
Idaho (not on red left arrow)
Michigan (OK on red left arrow)
Oregon (OK on red left arrow)
Washington (OK on red left arrow)
If your state is not listed on the first list, you may turn left on red from a one-way onto another one-way. All states on the second list also permit left turn on red from one way to one way.
