LED flashlight

Swirls are visible from a "single point" source of light, ie: the sun, a street lamp at night etc.

So I don't think a 15LED light would work well, my halogen is not powerfull and swirls are visible just fine.

If your'e stuck for room why not try a brinkman(think that is the name)

Someone will probably be of more help, :nixweiss

Yea that would produce too many light sources and would probably make it harder to see the swirls. I know it did when I tried it. Just try a single bright light.

If you have a Tuesday Mornings store in your area you can get a Brinkman Dual Xenon for $14.99. At Pepboys they are $29.99.

.....so what is brinkman?
The Brinkman uses very small tungsten-xenon incandescent bulbs combined with a pair of very well designed reflectors (looks like a speckled paraboloid, if anyone cares).

Together they give an extremely uniform and reasonably bright spot pattern (and a good approximation to a distant point source).

PC.

I called too and they told me the same thing. I went in anyways and they had more than 20 of them. So i bought 3.

So go there anyways, the clerks dont always know what they have.

I've noticed that majority of the detailers are using the brinkman dual xenon lights but I had my doubts on it. I think I'll purhcase one and see for my self.

Just curious anyone seen these lights in Canada?

I'm gonna go ahead and say I disagree. I have a 3 led flashlight I picked up to keep in the car and it is better @ finding swirls than the dual xenon light.

So there, from someone that has used both...

Yes, the LED flashlight only looks cool. Unfortunately... no good at all for finding swirls. However, it does exaggerate any possible flake in your paint.

So if you want to appreciate paint flake use a LED flashlight heh

I'll have to check how my single LED headlight for my bike works checking for swirls. One bulb, 1200 candlepower! Almost like having HIDs for my bike! It may or may not work though, lots of light but a huge beam pattern, although there is a very obvious hot spot in the middle.

Yeah I'll polish it out this weekend.

I see more in the paint with that 3 dollar flashlight than sun light, my halogens, or any other light. The exception being the 100w spotlight in my motion light on the garage... I'll never win the approval of that thing.

hi

i went to tuesday mornings today....they don't carry any brinkmann

and I just don't feel comfortable spending 30 dollars on something I rarely needs

So I went cheap again =_=......

Chinese Knockoff of the real cree flashlight (which is 30-70dollars)....but it use real Cree LED....suppose to be brighter than Xenon

Since the shipping is free...lets hope it'll arrive by next month so I can use my PC :wall
