Leaving SG on 24 hours b4 buffing!

Got two coats of Klasse AIO applied yesterday and let the second coat of AIO sit for about 2 hours before buffing it off to get the most out of the protective coating it provides.



Applied Klasse SG and it stayed on for 24 hours because it started to rain so I had to get my truck in the carport. It was too dark when I went to go buff so it had to stay on 24 hours.



Well, today I QD'ed the truck with Meguiar's #34 and then got started buffing off the Klasse SG residue.



I can't believe how easily it was buffing off!!!! I use to leave it on an hour and then come back with a wet MF towel and a dry one. I would have to work at some of the streaks. Now the SG was wiping off with a dry MF towel! Even the place where I had applied the SG a little too heavily and you could see a haze. Just wiped right off! I'm leaving it on 24 hours now before buffing!



Well, Here is the pic I just took a few minutes after buffing it. Gonna try to get the second coat on tomorrow. Want to get 5 coats on.

Yup, it's not easy wiping off SG that hasn't completey dried. Cuz you'd just be smearing it around.



I've always used a dry MF to wipe off SG without a problem.



Last time I SGed, the air was quite dry. And low humidity = faster drying time. SG wiped off easily with a dry MF a couple hours after applying.



Of course, putting it on as thin as possible helps in faster drying. Put it on too thick and you end up just smearing around the part that hasn't dried when you're trying to remove it.



When SGing, I keep my MFs dry, as instructed. Who knows how the chemicals in quick detailers might affect SG's curing process, especially when you're essentially rubbing it in.
 
I have not had a problem with removal but, I am going to try and wait a little longer. Most of the time I just want to finish but I will try waiting.



These tips are a great aid in using these products. I saying that before the internet I would just follow the directions with maybe my own 2 cents. Now I can really make a mess!

Very interesting about the 24 hour drying/curing.... and under a carport no less. I too have (suffer? :p) a carport and not a real garage so it's interesting to hear that you QDed then buffed. A new trick! Also thanks for doing a bit of description on the relative scale of how much easier SG is to buff off after many hours. Haze from too much SG really is a pain to remove, so that gives some useful context for comparison.



Despite this I'll still probably stick to my 1-2 hour wait routine because I usually can't park it for 24 hours and don't want to drive around with residue (however invisible) on it.

Yhea, having it in the carport it doesn't get as much stuff on it so it was pretty easy to QD. Mostly just a light dust on it.

Good work Intel. That's a pretty impressive pic (nice plates too!). I'm a bit confused though. You say you QD'd and then buffed out the SG. Wouldn't QD-ing the truck remove the SG anyways?
 
I was thinking the same thing. I SG'd my Ford F150 this weekend and let it sit for about 1 hour. I then removed it with a damp MF followed by a dry one. No problems at all.



I haven't thought of trying to remove it with QD. I kinda figure the QD would remove the SG anyway.

I don't rub hard when I QD. I lightly mist on, then run the one towel over the surface putting no pressure down. I then grab a dry towel and light buff the surface with quick movements to get rid of the streaks.



After I QD'ed the surface still had all the streaks from the SG. I then used a MF towel to buff those streaks off.
