Leather, or vinyl covered leather...

I was reading about "Hide Food", the leather cleaner/protectant, and it said not to use it on vinyl covered leather,like whats found in Chrysler and Caddilacs. only on true 100% leather.



How can you tell the difference between true leather, and vinyl covered leather:nixweiss

If a drop of water beads up (coated) or soaks in (uncoated).



Most US cars have coated leather....only a handful of cars today have uncoated leather....

Guess is right, almost all American cars, and most foriegn ones for that matter, use coated leather. The cars that are uncoated are mainly the ones that use Connolly Hides, ie Jaguar, Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Range Rover, etc. Some upper model Bimmers and Benz's use uncoated leather but not many.
