Leather cleaning question for the autopia wizards

What is the best cleaner for leather seats? Great cleaner, ease of use, smell, just plain results. I have an old bottle of Meguiars around maroon bottle, cleaner/conditioner, tried it on an old pair of sneakers and it isn't that great.

Thanks,

Sellncars

I have gotten the best results using AutoGlym Leather Cleaner. It even removed cured gel coat from my seat and steering wheel.

I appreciate your reply, but i cant believe that no' one else has any other recommendations on this

Thanks,

I've found a lot of products that work well, but I really prefer the ones that smell like leather and add that smell back into the seats; so I find myself using the Griot's Leather Conditioner out of all the cleaners and conditioners that I currently have.

That's not to say that it's the ONLY one that smells like leather. I've read that the Pinnacle product does, and I've read that the Zaino and Zymol do, too. I have something called Johnson & Murphy Leather Balm that smells like the inside of a Jag. Lexol works great, but smells like dirty socks. I shoot a bit of Griot's Leather Smell under the seat if I use the Lexol.

I hope this helps,

Tom

The "best" is a very subjective request.

Many products a very good at cleaning and conditining.

Like Mosca, I prefer the ones that smell like leather; specifically, Connolly leather - as used by RR, Jag, Aston Martin and Ferrari (since different tanning processes produce differents smells).

In my experience, the ones that smell like Connolly leather are Glyptone Liquid Leather and Pinnacle. I prefer Liquid Leather as the smell is far more intense and more durable, as is ideal for non-coated leather.

The Liquid Leather Cleaner is like a thick soap-based honey-like gel that also smells like Connolly and is great for all leather. The Liquid Leather Conditioner is much more intense smelling. I've just used it on my leather and my hands smell wonderful! :D

I apologize in advance for this seemingly stupid question:

I'm looking at Four Star Leather Cleaner Gel and Conditioner and even the Leatherique line. Will they work just as good on leather shoes and jackets? I ask because I use Lexol on leather car seats and my shoes. I would tend to think it logical that Four Star, etc. would be of the same use.

Clean: Woollite/Water (6:1)

Condition: UPP Leather Conditioner, Z-10 Leather in a Bottle (both have great leather smell)
