Leather cleaner advice requested

I use Lexol, which I like OK, and which keeps my seats nice and supple.

However, there IS one thing I wish I had; that leather smell.

Japanese leather seats have been deodorized. As I understand it, it's a cultural thing, a distaste for a smell that I personally find heavenly. I'll never forget my first time in a Jag... but enough of that.

While poking around here last week, I read a thread that alluded to products which helped add some of that odor I love. Among the suggestions was Connoly Hide Food, and a couple others. My question is, which products help give that rich or burnished smell? What are your preferences among these products, and why?

As far as Lexol is concerned, It smells chemical going on, but has no odor at all (to me) when dried.

I've been very impressed with Zaino's Leather Spray Cleaner and (for conditioning) Leather In A Bottle. As others here have written, it smells like walking into a Coach store. :up

You might want to do a search on the forums and you'll find lots of recommendations and evaluations of the various products.

I would have to concur, that the couple of times that I have used the Zaino cleaner(Z9) and the conditioner(Z10), I was very impressed with the results and more to the point, the smell.

The real litmus test though was when my fiancee got in the car and she actually commented on it, indicating that she thought it smelled better then when we bought the car brand new! I was pretty much sold after that. Just anectodale, but hope it helps.

My favorite of the ones that I have tried is the Medallion Premium Leather Care. I think it leaves the leather not only looking natural but smelling like new leather. Oh yeah, it protects well too.

I second the Medallion Leather Care.

Its what I use, it gets off virtually any stain and smells lovely when yer done!

Plus you dont need to buy two products as it cleans and conditions all in one go.

Does any of you find that the smell dissipates after say, a day or so? :nixweiss

I'm just wondering if some conditioners leave behind that leather scent for longer periods of time.

This will sound strange I know, my car lost its "new" leather smell quite quickly since I smoke. I was given an air freshener from Yankee Candle co, the candle store in a lot of malls, the scent is leather, really works, smells just like walking into a leather store.

I know you asked for a cleaner but if your happy with the look of the cleaner you are using you might want to look into it, they are only a few dollars each.
