Meg's buffing pads and UC work great on shower glass

Mothers aluminum polish and buffing pads don't produce good together on aluminum. What kind of pad will?

Also, is there a chart that shows megs pads, LC and griots pads in a aggressiveness comparison? I can't seem to find much of all three online.

Hahahahaaa.....I'm glad I'm not the only one! I use Meg's cleaner wax to take care of the bathroom.

Scooter, have you tried Mother's Powerball (mini)? They work great for me w/Meg's A&M Polish.

I haven't. How well does it clean up after used on aluminum? You know, that black greasy stuff...

Dawn. It helps to pull the powerball apart. Just need a 10mm wrench.

IME:

Meg's red cutting pad is equal if not more aggressive than the LC yellow cutting pad

Meg's yellow polishing pad is equal to the LC white polishing pad

Meg's tan finishing pad is in between the LC black and red finishing pads

These are simply approximations - technique and the product used will have a much bigger difference on the finish if you are trying to see the difference between a Meg's pad and an LC pad. Also, I am using the traditional, older LC coloring scheme and NOT the recent hydro-tech coloring scheme.

With regards to metal polishing, i highly recommend the use of the Mother's powerball or equivalent product. It takes me an infinitely longer time to polish metal by hand.....and I never get close to an equivalent finish. One of my best purchases ever.....

Right, but I find the Meguiar's maroon/burgundy foam cutting pad also leaves a nicer finish than the LC yellow cutting pad. I *never* use/recommend the LC yellow, but I'm a big fan of that Meguiar's pad.

As Nth Degree stated, Dawn works very well in cleaning up the Powerball. I use them to clean up the polished aluminum diamond plating on our rigs and you don't see any red when I'm done with it. I'll soak the ball with water and then apply a "gratuitous" amount of dawn directly onto the ball, agitate for several minutes and then rinse. Then I'll fill up the sink with more water and Dawn and let it soak for an hour or so. Rinse again and let it air dry in the sun if possible. The foam may still have a slight black tint to it but it feels as good as when I busted it out for the first time. It may seem to be a long process but it hasn't let me down even once.

Hope that helps a bit!
