Le Bra care help

I just bought a Le Bra for my car to help offset the effects of driving 30 miles on the freeway every day. The bra came with instructions stating to never use any kind of leather cleaner or conditioner in cleaning the bra. It didn't offer any suggestions on how to clean the bra, however. A black bra ain't gonna shine long! Any suggestions on how to clean?

I had a Bra for my BMW, and found out a few very important things:

1. Do not keep it on your car for extended periods of time, as the paint underneath will not match the rest of your car (fading and such). I would keep it on for two weeks, and take it off for one.

2. Make sure to clean it completely, as you can really scratch up your hood with debris embedded in the fabric edge.

3. Let it dry completely when cleaning. I found that taking it off, using some Dawn, and air drying for the night did the trick

4. If you want that nice new look, I would use some Vinlex (from the makers of Lexol). Very nice, keeps the shine, and keeps the grime off (it won't wear out the Bra).

I hope that this helps. I cannot stress enough how important it is to make sure that the inside is clean when putting the Bra back on your car (you might cry when you see all of the scratches . . . that you were trying to avoid in the first place).

Best regards.

The first thing you need to do is take the LeBra back to the store that you got it from and get a Colgan bra. LeBra's are notoriously cheap and may do more damage on your car than would occur otherwise. The backing isn't soft and may rub against your paint. They tear easily and they dry out rapidly. Car bras are incredibly high mainainance items and LeBra hasn't been able to show me that their product will stand up to abuse.

Follow the advice given by MarylandVW when taking care of your bra. Remember to never wash your car while the bra is still on the car. And take it off durring the winter. All kinds of nasty stuff can drip under the hood part and cause problems.

I would definatly get a higher quality if I were you. Colgan makes some very high quality car bras and I would trust them on any car I owned. Its your car, but if you really do care about its appearance then you'll want to use the highest quality products you can on it. You may even want to look into getting a clear bra. Those are excellent protection and they don't require the maintainance of a normal removable bra.

LeBra came recommended over Colgan on a T-Bird owner's site I often flock to. Better fit and longer life. But I will follow the suggestions for care. I don't plan on using it all that often, especially the lower piece.
