LC Purple Wool?

Hey guys, I'm doin some research on what kinda wool pads I should purchase. The only wool I've ever used, was the pad thats included with the Makita 9227C... How would the Purple Wool or some of the Edge wools compare to that in terms of aggressiveness and ease to use? How bout a comparison of cut between something like an LC orange or yellow pad vs purple wool?

What he said ^. Its easier to guide and move the machine around without it pulling and tuggin along the way. It also dispurses heat better than a stiff LC pad, so the panel stays cooler.

You can tell in this video (I wasn't correcting an entire panel, but trying to get rid of a few RIDS that were concentrated in that area) how easy I was able to guide the machine from the angle I was in. The product of choice was ECL so the working time for it is a lot shorter. If that was a LC foam pad, the machine would not have behaved soo nicely.

with wool, yep....it doesnt burn as fast as foam

do i do it? nope, but if on accident, it wouldnt be as bad as say a LC orange pad

Did you just cross over the door and onto the fender? Can you do that?

Its not ideal, I've been called on it before (David..LOL), but I spread the product well enough on the panel that when I cross over it doesn't gunk up the jams or anything, just throws a ton of polsihing dust in there requiring me to rinse the car down after polishing. Plus, the area I crossed over into is small so polishing it seperately would not make much sense with the size of the wool pad and all. Note, I was removing RIDS concentrated behind the front fenders. The whole car did not receive that.

Hmm so the general consensus is that it has about as much cut as an orange LC pad? Maybe I'll look into the Edge wool system then, I need something with a bit more cut than an orange pad.

Alright, researched some more on the Edge system, and I think that I might go with the adapter, and two 6" wool pads of black, yellow, and green. The price is right for the 6" pads (2 for $20, theoretically 4 since they're double sided) and I figure that the 6" pad will be easier to work with and fit into places than the 8" pad. Anyone have anything to add, or should I go ahead and buy it?

Go for it-I like my Edge wool pads

I haven't used the edge system but I'm in love with the purple wool. And I'd like to add that it cuts quicker than orange with less heat, oh and the finish is wicked too.

I've said it before, Presta UCC and UCCL on a purple pad produces some amazing results!

*Edit, the only reason why I don't skip over panels is because it flings product and dust in gap.

Who sells purple wool? I have Classic Motoring Accessories here in Tampa and when I was last in they've discontinued carrying that product. A few other sites I've checked online don't list it either.
