LC Orange Pad Abrasiveness

I just recieved my order of PC pads from TOL and i got one of the LC Orange pads in my order to try out. After reading many threads here about pads, it was said that the main difference between the abrasiveness of a Finish pad and a Yellow cutting pad is the yellow pads foam are more stiff then the finish pads. Also the Orange pad was said to be between a Yellow pad and a White pad in cut. So when i received my order and i was checking out the pads, the Orange pad is definitly a stiffer or hard feeling foam then the Yellow pads that i received. Is the Orange pad more abrasive or have more cutting power then the Yellow pads or are the Yellow pads still more abrasive? Thanks for the help

I have the same experience as you. The foam on my orange pad is harder. I don't use it very often, but one time I used it with 3M Machine Polish and it actually rotated a lot (using a PC) and generated some heat. I would say it was more aggressive than the yellow pad.

Its about equal in cut to that of the yellow pad. The cool part of the orange pad is that it, unlike the yellow pad, wont mar the surface and can be used for some extra bite when applying final polishes before going to the wax/protectant. I have some very minor hazing on my driver door and hood from DACP and was planning to try that to remove it.

If your wondering why just the hood and door, I dont know, I think I maybe didnt break the DACP down that well in those two areas. If you ever use DACP work the **** out of it. I have actually thought of using the DACP again but work it good and long to remove its own haze and see if I can do it.

In my experience, the orange Power Pad is somewhere in between the cutting and polishing strengths, but as said, does not leave much marring the way the cutting pad does.

ok, so is it true that the stiffer or harder feeling foam on the pads means that it has more cut? If so, even though the foam on the Orange pad that i received is stiffer, the Yellow pads have more cut and the Orange falls in between the Yellow and White pads.
