Layering Opti-Seal over DG501?

Hi All,

Sorry if I missed this in my searching, but has anyone tried using Opti-Seal essentially as a booster over a more durable synthetic sealant like Duragloss 105 or 501? Thinking of taking this approach with my wheels, using DG501 every 3-4 months then using Opti-Seal in between. I don't think Opti-seal has cleaners, but will it disrupt the DG product or fail to stick?

Some of you might say the DG products are strong enough not to need a booster. I'll admit that I'm partly just looking for a use for this bottle of Opti-Seal that I bought on a whim.

Thanks.

Should work just fine, I've done it countless times. OS will put a very glassy look over 105 or 501.

I like opti-seal, it has a very nice look. The DG105 I also really love. They both produce a very candy look to the paint, though IMO DG needs about 2-3 coats to really get that look vs. the opti-seal which needs just one in my experience. DG105 is one of the most durable sealants I have used though and while opti-seal is good for about 4 months (just my reading of it), i've had DG105 on my Wife's Honda and 6 months later still saw it beading and the car stays outside all the time. If scott says you can put it over the DG though i'd defintely do it just to get the best of both worlds. Probably would good a nice long protection time, plus layering OS couldn't be any easier, so put it on there after every other wash! lol I love to layer sealants :-)
