layering of polymers/acrylics

i started out using zaino - followed directions - and while the result was adequate, it was a bit disappointing - then tried klasse - did aio and SG - i have got the SG down to a science now - apply onto a mf aplicator that i wet with Z-6 - apply from a fine mist spray bottle onto the pad; then, it dries in 30 min or less - remove with mf towel first then immediately z-6 - great results

now - the question - i keep reading about the platinum products - have never used them - which order of products do i need, are they as good as they are said to be, can i layer them over my base of klasse

any suggestions are appreciated -

:welcome Shep. Sounds like you're already seriously into this detailing thing. Since I see this is your first post, just a little info here: This forum is for professional detailers to discuss their issues ... and of course we all learn a lot from those discussions and can often offer them tips/insights. But you need to post your questions in the Autopia University forum. Trust me, pros and amateurs alike will see and reply to your questions there. :up

Yeah, "Professional Detailers" simply means "detailing for money". :) I imagine many of such people don't even use layerable polymers that much simply because of the nature of the business.

Speaking of which, are there pros out there that offers SG/Z/UPP layering as part of their service? If so, how do you do several coats within the day? Now, I understand that Z has ZFX which can allow you to layer in a short period, but how about SG?

I doubt a customer would actually notice the difference between 1 layer of UPP and 6.

To be honest the cost and time required wouldnt make it a very atttractive proposition if I were the paying customer, unless it was layered as part of a monthly 'top-up' detail service.

I use AIO and UPP for the more 'upmarket' cars simply because it works best on new, unmarked paint.

Day to day customers are more likely to end up with a glaze and S100.

I havnt had any complaints so far and it means I can charge a little less as the products are cheaper.

(Plus o course S100 doesnt need any 'curing time'.)
