layering NXT?

so can NXT be layered? I know it is somewhat abrassive, so maybe it will remove the previous layer? just wondering...

also, is topping zaino over NXT okay? zaino says it has no abrasives so i'm guessing it will stick on top of NXT? thanks!

Lots of info on this here...a search may be helpful. Or, at least confuse you even more.

As I understand it, NXT cannot be layered as it contains cleaners and a mild abrasive that would remove the previous coat as it applies the next.

Zaino will not adhere well to NXT as NXT contains silicones...Zaino needs a clean surface.

NXT isn't a good product to layer. I've seen what it does to swirls and oxidation and I can't see how a layer of NXT would survive that kind of cleaning.

Why would you want to top NXT with Zaino? I mean, Zaino is a superior product when it comes to shine and probably durability too. Why would you want to waste the time putting down an inferior product when you could go straight to the good stuff? I'm not saying that NXT isn't a great product, of course. I'm just saying that it is pretty much a stand alone product. Besides, Zaino isn't a topper product. It should either be used as the primary sealant or not at all. The same goes for all sealants.

When was this rule established? I must have missed that class or fell asleep. ;)

I have topped AIO with Zaino looks great

I have topped WG with EX-P looks fantastic

I plan to top WG with Zaino some time this week.

Never had a problem. :nixweiss

hmmmmmmmmmm thanks guys. I'm only asking because i'd like to layer as much protection as possible on my new CF hood.

How is the UV protection on Klasse SG?? I guess I am just asking for a good product that I can layer on that has UV protection. THANKS.

The majority of your UV protection is in the clearcoat (if present). Is your CF hood clearcoated? The UV protectant additives in protectants have very short-life spans.

yeah, the hood does have a clearcoat on it, but they recommended I add another. Till then, I'd like to hold it out this summer with as much protection as I can do via polishes/waxes.

what do you suggest? I have klasse, zaino, meguiars, einzett... how should I go at it? Something that I can layer on and on.... i'm thinkign AIO w/ zaino would be the best combo I can go with right now.

Also, the hood has NXT on it right now... if I apply klasse AIO, it will strip away the NXT right? Or do you recommend washing it with dishwashing soap / clay bar first then going at it with AIO...

thanks

thaaaaaanks! This hood is the first one made by the company so I can't compare it to older hoods to see if there are any fading issues... so i wanna take all the measures possible to prevent it.
