Layering Different Sealants

I have tried searching for this topic im posting but came up with now particular luck. My question is regarding layering sealants of different brands.



Will there be any bonding issues layering sealants over each other that are from different companies?



Some examples that I may want to try later are, Zaino layered with UPP. Or Zaino over NXT? Maybe EX-P+ over Zaino? Etc etc...I guess i could go on and on about sealants over each other but do any of you think there will be any adverse effects?



I really want to try the Zaino Z2 pro then apply UPP over it. I want to make sure they will be interchangleable before I mess any thing up or just waste products.

I guess Im just curious about it. I have thourough expierence with Zaino. Everyone here seems to have different opinions on how different sealants look. I thought maybe layering different sealants might be a way to alter some looks to get "cross-benefits" I mean if sealants are mainly composed of the same make-up and are meant to be layered, I dont see why it would be a problem. Of course im not a chemist :(-
 
Not sure about bonding but I have tried and like



PB EXP x 2 coats plus wolfgang

AIO X 1, SG x 3-7 & 4* UPP x 2

SG & Wolfgang

Omikron Bodyseal x 1, SG x 3



Have applyed polymer first and then multiple layers of an acrylic and vice versa with no problems at all.

The only wax I put over the top of sealants is a pure carnuaba like P21s concours paste wax. This is due to not being sure if a synthetic wax will weaken or strip the sealants.
 
I guess as others have done....I will just simply give it a try. Man i wish spring/summer was here :( I want to try UPP over Zaino. I think that would be a nice combo :)
 
I don't know if it worked, but I topped Zaino Z2 w/EX-P. I was blown away by the look of it, but I can't say that the EX-P bonded or not. And I know you can't top Zaino w/ anything and then try to put a layer of Zaino over that! It will not bond with anything but Zaino under it, from what I hear!

Well that's just poopy! :( I guess if I do any topping of Zaino then I might as well go Carnub route. I wonder if the other sealants are as finicky about bonding like Zaino is.

Try it and find out. Don't rely on second hand hearsay of an unsubstantiated rumor.



I've layered Klasse SG with Megs NXT and found the results quite pleasing. YMMV.
