Lawn tractor Detailing

Hey guys,
I just bought a used lawn tractor, mechanically A1, looks...nots so good. Nothing cracked or falling off, but the hood and other plastics (whatever its made of) is quite faded. The hood is red and the other parts appear to be grey. My question to you guys is can this be polished or would wax stain? It seems to be made up of the same type of "material" as the hood of my snowmobile and I polish that with no problems.

Anyway, I just thought I would throw this out for comments. I am sure I would not be the first guy out there to detail their mowers!

I think you can go ahead and polish and wax it with no troubles. It might be SS paint but it coudl be CCed, either way it shoudl be safe

I pick the mower up tomorrow, I will definetely take some before and after shots!!

I can't believe I am this excited to detail a mower...the grass can wait!
 
I have a John Deere lawn tractor, and for the price I paid for it, you better believe I have the nicest, shiniest mower in the neighborhood!!! :lol I have used SSR1 followed with UPP and it looks better than when I picked it up and the tractor equipment place.
 
I think this is proof of a sickness!

The sad part is I don't think any doctor could cure us!

We have a honda lawn mover (push mower) My front yard is all of about 200 sq feet ... any way Last week I was changing the spark plug and noticed that one of the pieces of meal on the mower was starting to rust. Right away I remved it ... Sanded it down washed it ... wiped it down with alcohol and sprayed it with silver rustolem ...Looks like new... While I was at it I picked up my Poorboys Trim Restorer and went over all of the plastic!

Results ..Lawn Mower looks brand new!
 
Guilty of detailing my lawn tractor. :doh There is no cure only "Detail Therapy" as I like to call it. I start with the power washer and well you guys know the routine.

Front to back, Top to bottom, tires, wheels and seat... no doubt it still looks better than when I bought it out of the Sears sales floor.

As a long time member of "tractor detail anonymous" it is good to publicly say that yes, I detail my cub cadet too! Though my wife now believes that i am insane!
 
And I detail my 40 HP 4X4 John Deere acreage tractor. Darned thing cost as much as a new Harley. I sure impressed the folks at the dealership when I brought it in for service. :D

I know I promised pics, but the lawnmower deal fell through. 2 salesman sold the mower to 2 people...I was the second. Oh well, shopping is half the fun anyway. There'll be another mowers out there for me to detail...., and mow my lawn with.
