lawn maintenance vs clean car!

There is no cure!
ok well to give u a lil insight ont he situation, its this. i live with my parents. im 18 and ive had the BUG for almost a year now... everytime the lawn maintenance workers cut the lawn they blow the remaining debris all over the place. getting all the little peices of crap all over my car... ive spoken with ym parents about it and they just brush it off along with their dirty cars...

i park my car away from the grass as possible but they always get it on my car... cant use the garage peopel its full of crap... dont know if i should take the initiative and speak with the workers or get me a car cover...

what steps would u guys tke to keep this friendly and respectful between me and the workers. im sure they deal with a lot of homes and to take extra precautions is hard for them...

Get a car cover if it bothers you that bad. There's not much you can do, especially if the lawn people cut grass in the houses next to you. Either that or wait until after the lawn care people are finished for this time and do a quickie wash or something. How often is it that they mow your lawn? This might be an incentive to clean out the garage so YOU can park YOUR car in there.... :) Just my 2/100 of a $.

Maybe they can do the leaf blower over your car as the last thing they do :huh

excellent point. make sure its alright with your parents first. the only problem i see is after you spend all that time cleaning the garage, they might swoop in it to shelter their dirty cars.

I don't know that if I had lawn clippings all over my car that I would want a 150+ MPH wind moving them around on my surface. Seems like it would be too easy to get som ekind of marring from that. :dunno

Using a carcover is definitely an option, but it would be my final option if I was buying it solely for this reason.

I'd talk to the lawn maintenance people & ask them (politely) to direct the lawnmower's discharge chute away from all the cars.

They shouldn't have to asked 'cause they are well aware that, along with grass clippings, the mower also discharges sticks, small stones, landscaping mulch, and the ever-popular dog exhaust.

If that doesn't work, you'll have to park your car in the street a couple houses away & wait for them to make their mess and leave before putting your car in the driveway.

Guaranteed, if you clean the garage there's no guarantee that you'll get to use it exclusively. Junk will again be accumulated & eventually something will fall on/against your car making the grass clipping issue seem trivial.

the thing is this isnt the first issue with them... about 3 months ago they had cut our lawn and i guess the weedwacker, trim cutter, mower, ect went over some rcks and left 3 little pen tip size pits int he paint of my door... i barely notice it anymore but the fact that they blow around my cars and i see all this debris on it, makes me wonder what else is being blown onto it..

they cut every 15 days!

Most lawn care companies have a set schedule and arrive at the same time, same day....

Go out for a ride until they are done!

i used to go to movies on fridays when the lawn service people would come to my apt. the would make a huge mess and not care at all. i tried to talk to the apt manager and she would do nothing. then i talked to the lawn care business owner and he said he couldnt do much either. i just gave up arguing and either went to the movies or sat in my car with my doors open. they usually avoided my car when i sat in it. some people just dont understand.
