Latest Detail - OCW on silver = sun flares and cool reflections

My car, last major detail at the start of August (SSR1, AIO, P21S). This time just washed it really well (PW Slick n Suds), found no tar or other surface contaminants, so then finished with OCW by hand. Unbelievable results! Popping flake and hard reflections, although the camera didn't pick up the flake - I guess the sun was too high or too strong? Piccies taken with Fujifilm Finepix F700 on landscape mode (too bright for auto mode).

Cheers. I should also point out that my car has over 65k miles on the clock and is exactly four years old today! :bestwish: :birthday: :grinno:

Believe me, it's on there - applied Poorboys Bright n Bold half an hour before taking the pictures (and I put on a fresh coat every 1-2 weeks) - it's the black wheels that makes it look like I've forgotten to do them. If I park next to most cars with silver alloys my tyres look much darker - downside of having gloss black rims!

Holy crap. How many inch did you slam on that Skuda?

I dont think I cant stick my fat finger on the wheel well.

btw, very nice job.

Gotta remember the OCW on silver cars. Looks great. Definitely diggin those wheels. All about the black wheels. You can get your tires blacker, just gotta havem glossy too.

I belive I used Megs hot shine.

Thanks all. The last time I did a major detail I finished with P21S. I was very pleased with the result but the OCW is just amazing - really brought the flake out. Next up its a Seat, not a Skoda, and it's been dropped 50mm on an Eibach/Koni combo. This is about the limit for best handling, but some folks have dropped Leon's by up to 90mm! Thanks for the tip on the tyre dressing - any other suggestions to get my tyres looking blacker (always like to try out as many options as possible)? ;)

Have you found that the paint is especially thin on the Seat Leon?

I only ask because my brother-in-law has a Cupra and his bonnet is covered in small stone chips. He claims that the paint is very thin.

He also considers himself a car cleaning fanatic but try as I might I can't get through to him that big sponges are bad. (He figures that because he bought the most expensive at Halfords that it can't possibly hurt the paintwork)
