Background........

I detail cars on the weekends and work an 8-5 job. I have no time for any of my cars. Finally....this weekend I had all the time I needed for my baby, (the others are going to have to wait). It took me both saturday and sunday. Saturday I was doing the car in between getting lunch for my girlfriend, and running to the store for my Mom. I worked on the car for two hours on sunday and then spent the rest of the day with my daughter and girlfriend.

My father bought me this car in 1996. This was supposed to be our project car. He passed away in 1998 and I felt like I was doing what he wanted me to do with the car. I raced the car for years on Guam's backroad (our dragstrip was recently built). Rock chips, and jungle scratches (hiding ffom the cops) are all over the car. Through all this the car only has 38,000 miles. The reason for the low miles is that I hardly drive the car, and I am always breaking something. I got the car running this past september. The car was on jack stands for two years.

When my Daughter was born, I finally saw the light. This car will be in my family for along time. It's not a cobra or a rare mustang, but I decided to take care of this car and give this car to my daughter (with a 3000rpm rev limit).

I'm sure the daughter is going to love that gift when that time comes. From the 4th pic it looks like some type of purple maybe. great job.

thanks guys.....it's called metallic violet. I always get asked if my car is a factory color. The backing plate is made by advantage tools but It came with the g-100 from www.autodetailingsolutions.com thanks again

Interesting.... I'm suprised ADS didn't just package a W-64DA with it like Meguiar's does. Maybe they, too, have seen too many problems with the Meg's back-up plates that I loathe with a passion.

Oh, and you had me fooled for a second there, as from a couple of those shots I almost thought I was seeing a mystichrome effect in the paint.

the hood shot with the towel on it is amazing....great work

i see that u used all meguiars products......i think all meguiars products are good, but it always seems they are terribly hard to buff off (espcially megs #7) ...do u have this problem?

Shiny= I really like this back plate. Yeah, I had a guy approach me once at the crocery store and asked me if it was mysticshrome. The color does change shade in depending on the sun.

Joe- the #2, #80, and #21 did not give me problems at all. The 7 used to give me problems but I apply it thin and work it in each panel for along time. I hardly use 7 anymore, the processed I used on my car topped with s-100 gives me the wet and the great reflective look. thanks for looking.
