I just wanted to thank DavidB for recommending the S100 corrosion protectant spray. I am amazed at how well this stuff works. I believe it rivals all of the raved exterior trim protectants out there.
The spray was designed to be used on surfaces that are prone to corrosion on a motorcycle--metal, plastic. With that being said, it makes a great exterior protectant for the car.
For instance, the rubber gasket around the sunroof, the trim around the front and rear winshields, chrome muffler tips, wiper blades...the list goes on and on.
The product comes in a spray can. Most of the time, however, I spray on to a towel and then apply the prodct.
Another great thing about this product is it doesn't leave visible long lasting smudges on the paint, like when your touching up the black trim around the front windshield. Other protectants are notorious for leaving oily smudges.
The only downside is the stuff smells like Raid. At least that keeps the bugs away.
Also when you first apply it, the trim will look very shiny. Don't panic! The luster will disappear 20 seconds later.
