Hello all,

It has been a long time since I last posted anything up on here. I really like the new site, good to see it so busy.

I decided to compile a bunch of pictures from this project and share. The owner left this car with me for a few months, during which I moved my shop location so some pics are in the old shop and some are in the new. This vehicle needed a lot of attention both inside and out and made for quite the transformation.

Here we go!

Looks good from 20 feet away but up close it is a different story. The paintwork was in desperate need of some love.

I carefully polished with my PC using LC pads and Meg's 105/205.

Oh how it frustrated me I was unable to remove the logo from the rear deck lid. On some of there cars they are easier to access, however, that was not the case with this one.

The front emblem had a large chip so I replaced it and fixed some deeper scratches while I was at it.

Much better. I used multiple coats of Dodo Juice Supernatural for LSP.

Time to move on to the interior. Leatherique Pristine Clean for the seats, door panels, console, and anywhere else I could use it. I love this stuff. Man I knew the seats would clean up well but I was not prepared for this. I said to myself if I do not get a 50/50 shot here I will regret it dearly.

I cleaned the carpeting and protected with 303 where applicable. Here is what I got.

I could not wait to get the car outside pictures.

Thanks guys! yea I knew the leather was far from clean but had no idea it was that bad. I wonder why the pictures are cut of on the right side?

Tim,

Fantastic! What a pleasure to read. I bet it was more a pleasure to detail! Oh, and thanks very much for posting how you replaced that emblem. I've never seen it done before. Loved the plastic spoon! Does the brand new emblem have self-adgesive backing you press onto the hood and it holds?

What an awesome job! :bigups

Thanks Brad!

Bill, Ok so there is an 8mm nut that also holds the emblem on. You can access it after you raise the hood for the front compartment. The emblem has a bolt that extends from the back of it. You can see the hole that it goes through on one of the pics. I actually talked to Todd Cooperider to get some advice when it came to replacing that. He suggested heating it up and that helped alot! There is adhesive tape on the back of a new emblem.

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

The things we learn here on Autopia! Thanks! :bigups

Forget Griots trim pulling kits..................who knew it's all about the spoon!! lol, j/k very nice work on a car with almost no paint on them when brand new.

Tim - great work man. Very nicely done and I love the 50/50 on the leather. Hope the owner is happy to have a brand-new car again!
