Klasse /Zaino Question

Last year I used Zaino and was happy *but* true to form like a lot of us here I like to try different things. Well I went with the Klasses twins to see if I like the finish and I do. BUT I don't know if it is my imagination but does anyone else who has used both find that Klasse SG mars a lot easier than Zaino.

Examples ... Customs agent shut the trunk by pushing down on the lid (very light dusting on it .. car was just washed and driven 11 miles on paved roads) . I needed to get out the PC and IP to buff out the finger mars. With the Zaino I don't remember it suffering from this.

Example ... Used a MF and a QD to wipe off a bird poop on a fender.. noticed after that the SG was swirled not where the poop was but where the dust was around it.

now I say dust I'm talking dust you don't notice till you remove some or look in the sun. Not road grime.

Maybe because I prepped the surface wth the PC this year my surface is that much closer to perfect and thus more minor imperfections become noticable or is SG just that much softer than Zaino?

I like the ease of SG but if this is a characteristic of it .. dunno .. might have to rethink ..

Oh my hood is done with NXT and out of curiosity today I wiped a Plush Yellow PakShak MF across the fender ( SG) and hood ( NXT) and noticed swirls in the SG and none in the NXT.

Any comments?

I haven't noticed marring by simply touching a dusty paint surface, but I have seem micro marring in the SG layer that went away when I removed SG with AIO or other cleaner. Though, it seems to take a little more than what you've described to get marring.

How many layers of SG do you have and how long have they cured?

Maybe you have super abrasive dust?!?

3 layers and all cured a minimum of 24 hours before anything touched them. No water / QD anything. Applied by the WOO method.

I cannot speak to Zaino, but I have noticed some micro-marring in the SG layers since I've started to use it - WOWO. I've seen some of it disappear with the next layer - has anyone else noticed any "filling" by SG on itself or over UPP?

I have noticed that using UPP really brightens up the SG for about a week or so (in Houston). The truck looks GREAT, but it seems I can only get about 2 washes out of the UPP and then I start to see marring again (2 bucket wash with SS and WW drying). Cannot tell if it is new marring or the old ones coming back. Maybe my wash technique is not all that great.

I have Klasse on a couple of cars in my family right now and have not noticed any marring at all. One of the cars is white and it would be difficult to see any micro marring. The other is a champagne color and has not shown any marring either but I only used the WOWO method on this car for the first time about 10 days ago. Prior to that I had always let the SG remain for 24 hours before removing.

I wonder if anyone has noticed any marring using SG and letting the SG remain on the paint for 12-24 hours before buffing. Maybe this is a small drawback to using the WOWO method.
